ITV’s “gripping” thriller Malpractice has landed a new streaming home in the UK.
The medical drama made its debut in 2023 and focused on Dr. Lucinda Edwards (played by Niamh Algar), as she navigated a grueling shift at the hospital. A tragic incident occurred when an opioid overdose patient under her care passed away, leading to an investigation initiated by the distraught father of the deceased patient.
The investigation spearheaded by Dr. Norma Callahan (Helen Behan) and Dr. George Adjei (Jordan Kouamé) rapidly becomes a significant part of Lucinda’s life, affecting not only her career but also her marriage to Tom (Lorne MacFadyen).

This week, a fresh program started, giving Disney+ users in the United Kingdom access to various ITV programs, labeled as a ‘Preview of ITVX.’ Simultaneously, ITVX is offering a ‘Preview of Disney+’ by streaming popular Disney content.
Prior to its debut, the series Malpractice drew comparisons to Line of Duty, as both were produced by World Productions.
In no time at all, season one gained the same level of acclaim as a highly-rated cop show. On IMDb, viewers praised it as an edge-of-your-seat drama, found it captivating, and thought its pacing was spot on.
In May 2025, a fresh season made its appearance, with the spotlight now on Dr. James Ford, portrayed by Tom Hughes, a self-assured on-duty psychiatry trainee who takes center stage.
In another unfortunate turn of events, a situation unfolds with disastrous consequences, leaving James in the crosshairs of an official probe. However, upon closer inspection by Dr. Norma Callahan and Dr. George Adjei, it’s revealed that things are not as they appear to be.
Does Dr. Ford exhibit signs of having an inflated sense of self-importance akin to a god, or is she merely a victim of the establishment? Can the MIU manage to expose the actual events that transpired, in spite of resistance from all quarters?
