The Assassin
In a new, pulse-pounding adventure, Keeley Hawes from “Line of Duty” and “Miss Austen” stars as former assassin Julie. Accompanied by her distant son Edward (Freddie Highmore), their peaceful life on a picturesque Greek island is disrupted when her tumultuous past comes back to haunt them, compelling them to flee.

Working together, they expose a sinister plot that could annihilate them, yet as their history and current situation intertwine, they discover even more perils lurking. In light of these threats, the mother and son will need to set aside their disagreements and unite if they hope to make it through.

Washington Black
Following the Footsteps of Washington Black, as portrayed in Esi Edugyan’s namesake novel, recounts the tale of the 11-year-old boy named George Washington “Wash” Black, born on a sugar plantation in Barbados. Wash’s exceptional intellect in scientific matters propels him towards remarkable achievements; however, his voyage is far from tranquil.
An unfortunate event compels Wash to escape, propelling him on global journeys filled with excitement. During these travels, he starts envisioning a life unbound by the constraints of his upbringing – yet, is such freedom really achievable for him?
The series stars Paradise‘s Sterling K Brown.
Washington Black arrives on Wednesday 23 July on Disney+.
Here We Go, season 3
The Jessops have returned, bringing their usual dose of chaos! In the latest season, Katherine Parkinson’s character, Rachel, endeavors to balance her role as a mom while adjusting to her new position as a therapist.
In the meantime, Paul (Jim Howick), now a police officer, continues his struggle to earn the respect of his colleagues and his children as well. Additionally, the family’s life becomes even more bustling with the birth of a new member.
Prepare for a multitude of chaos and an array of distinguished guest stars to add fuel to the fire, featuring Jane Horrocks from ‘Absolutely Fabulous’, Robert Glenister hailing from ‘Sherwood’, Jon Furlong known for his roles in ‘Adolescence’ and ‘Pushers’, as well as Kathryn Drysdale who graced our screens in ‘Bridgerton’.

Whitstable Pearl, season 3
A delightful drama you won’t want to miss has been added to your collection of must-see shows. This series, known as Whitstable Pearl, aired in the US on Acorn TV earlier and will now be available for streaming in the UK this week.
Kerry Godliman reprises her character as Pearl Nolan, the restaurant owner, but this time around, she’s deeply involved in the detective work aspect of her life. As a result, her mother Dolly (played by Frances Barber) and daughter Ruby (Isobelle Molloy) are left to manage the restaurant on their own. However, it remains to be seen if Pearl can handle both roles or if she’s taken on more than she can chew.
Whitstable Pearl season 3 arrives on Friday 25 July on U and U&DRAMA.
The Loch
As a fervent admirer of captivating crime dramas, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm as Netflix introduces the intriguing series “The Loch” to their collection. This new addition promises an experience that’s sure to keep me on the edge of my seat!
Initially broadcast on ITV, the series features Don Gilet, known for his role as the lead detective in “Death in Paradise,” alongside Siobhan Finneran and Laura Fraser. The plot of “The Loch” revolves around DS Annie Redford, played by Laura Fraser, as she delves into a murder mystery.
However, this is just the start of the story. Detective Chief Inspector Lauren Quigley (played by Finneran) steps in to aid with the investigation, as we race against time to prevent the murderer from striking once more.
The Loch is available to stream on Saturday 26 July on Netflix.
