Aussie icon set to headline the 2025 Logie Awards is revealed

The 65th TV Week Logie Awards have finally revealed their headline act for this year’s ceremony.

Legendary rock artist Jimmy Barnes will perform live at The Star Sydney on August 3, treating Australian audiences to a collection of beloved songs spanning over four decades.

Jimmy, with his collection of 21 top-selling albums and an induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, excitedly shared his eagerness to kick off the festivities at the yearly award event, promising a lively celebration.

‘I am excited about playing at the Logies, television’s big night of nights,’ the 69-year-old said.

It would be wonderful to honor all the incredible talent on Australian TV and crank up some rock’n’roll tunes to really make the celebration lively.

Australian legend will be accompanied by entertainers such as Kitty Flanagan, Hamish Blake, and Leigh Sales – these are merely some of the anticipated hosts set to impress the audience.

It has also been revealed that Sam Pang will host the event for the third time.

Last year and this year, including 2023, Sam’s witty and unconventional humor as the host was highly popular among viewers and the elite of television, while also garnering significant ratings success for Seven.

Sam shared with The Herald Sun, “I’ve been privileged to host the past two years, and I eagerly anticipate once more showcasing the gifted individuals and exceptional programs that make Australia’s television scene a source of national pride.

‘I am very excited to return for another Logies and would like to thank Seven for asking me back.’

The highly anticipated Logie nominations were formally revealed in June, right at the Sydney Opera House. Australians breathed a sigh of relief upon discovering that a familiar television figure was nominated for the most prestigious category.

After more than 33 years of playing Irene Roberts on the soap opera Home and Away, Lynne McGranger has earned her first-ever Gold Logie nomination, recognizing her dedication and effort.

On Instagram, the 72-year-old Australian celebrity expressed her excitement about a significant achievement in her career and encouraged followers to cast their votes.

‘Well this is some fabulous news to get while I’m away!!’ she penned.

I’m incredibly excited to have been nominated for the Silver Logie Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama, as well as for the prestigious Gold Logie!

Additionally, Ally Langdon from A Current Affair, aged 46, has been nominated for this year’s top award as well. She was previously awarded Best News or Public Affairs Presenter in the previous year.

Experienced contender Hamish Blake, aged 43, finds himself in the running once more for the Gold Logie award. He previously claimed

Lisa Millar, previously known as the host of ABC News Breakfast, is also being considered for a prestigious award due to her contributions to Backroads and Muster Dogs. (age 56)

Additionally, Poh Ling Yeow, a contestant on MasterChef Australia and aged 51, is also among the potential participants. She was recently embroiled in rumors about her possible departure from the popular cooking program, but subsequently announced that she has agreed to return in 2026.

57-year-old Julia Morris is all geared up to compete for the Gold Logie as well, having co-hosted Network 10’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” show with wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin in South Africa.

Additionally, Sonia Kruger, aged 59, who previously won a Gold Logie in 2023, is once more nominated for the top award on Dancing With The Stars.

Voting is now open and will remain so until 7pm on Friday August 1.

The ceremony will be available to watch on Seven and 7Plus.
