Champions crowned: Team Spirit dominate Dota 2 at the Esports World Cup

At the Esports World Cup 2025, the victors in an impressive Dota 2 competition were Team Spirit, who lifted the championship trophy.

Following ten thrilling days of Dota 2 matches at the Esports World Cup, a winner has been declared, as Team Spirit convincingly outplayed their competition. Both Teams Falcons and Spirit displayed remarkable skill during the playoffs. They overcame significant setbacks and delivered stunning plays, setting the stage for an anticipated intense clash. Yet, instead of the anticipated close match, we witnessed a dominating performance from Team Spirit in what turned out to be a lopsided competition.

PARIVISION comes prepared

Prior to the final showdown, we witnessed the third-place matchup featuring PARIVISION and Tundra Esports. This thrilling best-of-three contest provided an exciting prelude to the grand finals. In the first game, Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov’s Nature’s Prophet showcased a remarkable 23 kills, but PARIVISION then brought out their signature hero – Pudge. This time, it was Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko who handled the Pudge. Tundra found it challenging to establish a presence and ultimately finished in fourth place. For PARIVISION, this resulted in securing a podium finish at the Esports World Cup and earning $300,000 from the prize pool.

Team Spirit is the Dota 2 champions of the Esports World Cup 2025

As they approached the championship game, neither Spirit nor Falcons had lost a single match in the playoffs. The anticipation was high for an exciting series between these two elite teams, but what unfolded was anything but evenly matched. From the opening moments to the last, it was Spirit who maintained control over the entire series. In the first game alone, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov on Lycan took command of Falcon’s territory with a swift Helm of the Overlord, effectively setting the tone for the rest of the match.

In the Esports World Cup Dota 2 finals, Team Spirit had mastered the strategies of their opponents, the Falcons, and demonstrated top-tier drafts as a result. However, the next game proved challenging for Team Spirit, as Denis “Larl” Sigitov’s Storm Spirit and Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s Medusa remained invulnerable to the Falcons’ attacks. By the end of the match, Team Spirit had only managed 9 kills, leaving them trailing 0-2 in the best-of-five series.

In the last game of the Dota 2 tournament at the EWC 2025, Falcons appeared to falter. Instead, it was Team Spirit who dominated them, essentially dancing circles around their opponents, and claimed a straightforward 3-0 series win. Consequently, Team Spirit emerged victorious and were declared champions of Dota 2 at the Esports World Cup.

Alongside this, Collapse also received the prize of being the Tournament MVP.
