Denham Hitchcock has hit back at viewers criticising his new program 10News+.

In June, the journalist, who was revealed as a co-host with Amelia Brace for the show, addressed two critical remarks left by followers on his Instagram account.

One social media user accused the presenter of sharing ‘fake news’ via the fresh news platform.

Despite being 48 years old, he didn’t hesitate to question: “What stories on this show have appeared false?”

Another individual criticized Denham regarding his views on vaccines, commenting: “How can we trust you @denhamhitchcock?

As a devoted adherent who encountered the uncommon side effect of pericarditis post my first two doses of Pfizer vaccination in 2021 and was subsequently hospitalized, I firmly rebut the allegation with a passionate retort.

7News and 9News ruled over the given time period, boasting 1.5 million and 1.45 million viewers respectively.

10News+’s numbers continued to deteriorate, falling to approximately 244,000 on the next Tuesday and dipping even more to around 205,000 by midweek.

By Friday, the outlook had become quite bleak, as the in-depth news program managed to attract just 152,000 viewers.

Industry experts were taken aback by the initial ratings following the program’s intense promotion about the drug-smuggling case involving Debbie Voulgaris, an Australian mother who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for bringing 7kg of illegal substances into Taiwan.
