Tamzin Outhwaite, 54, says she’s loving single life as she shrugs off dating apps after split from toyboy ex

Tamzin Outhwaite expresses that she has never felt more content following her longest period without a romantic partner.

Previously known EastEnders actress, aged 54, openly expressed her enjoyment of being single and disclosed no immediate intentions for entering into a new relationship, even after subscribing to a dating platform, post her breakup with 34-year-old fitness instructor Tom Child.

During an open conversation, Tamzin confessed that she finds it challenging to stay current on the app and expresses little enthusiasm about resuming her involvement in dating.

She shared with The Sun: “I’m currently unattached, I’ve given online dating a shot. I’m signed up to one at the moment, but I often find myself neglecting to log in.

I find it hard to envision myself attending that date and resorting to small talk again. While it may eventually occur, I have no intention of rushing into it. I’ve enjoyed my single status for over a year now, and I’m cherishing it far too much to give it up.

This well-known television personality, known for portraying Mel Owen on EastEnders since 1998, has rarely been single throughout her adult years. Instead, she’s moved from one extended relationship to another for many years.

Tamzin clarified: “It’s important for me to be alone right now, as I haven’t spent such a prolonged period unattached before. I’ve typically been involved in relationships. Surprisingly, I find solitude quite enjoyable.

Her break-up with Tom last year came six years after they first got together. 

Later on, Tamzin characterized it as the “most considerate and adult” separation she had encountered, in stark contrast to her difficult 2013 divorce from actor Tom Ellis, whom she alleged was unfaithful numerous times.

Even though her career is thriving on-screen, Tamzin admits that romantic love isn’t a focus for her right now, as she’s fully occupied by her role as a mother to her daughters Florence, aged 17, and Marnie, who is 12 years old.

And it’s not just parenting that’s keeping her busy. 

Tamzin’s acting career is booming with recent roles in ITV’s The Tower and Channel 5’s The Wives. 

Last year, she also participated in the Christmas edition of Strictly Come Dancing, but mentioned that she wouldn’t be able to commit to the entire series. In a light-hearted manner, she stated: “At this point, I lack both the patience and the physical structure – or the required strength.

Tamzin took control of her health, sharing that she lost a dress size prior to filming The Wives by abstaining from alcohol and working out every day for six consecutive weeks.

Currently, she maintains her fitness through outdoor yoga practice and frequent sauna use, claiming without reservation that these activities are effective.

Surrounded by a close circle of celebrity friends such as Amanda Holden, Denise Van Outen, and Angela Griffin, Tamzin has a strong network of support. She made it clear that she’s not eager to give up her freedom right away.

In the sunny months of this year, I found myself flaunting my sculpted physique on Instagram, right from a balcony during a rejuvenating vacation in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta. As I took advantage of the picturesque surroundings to stay active and maintain my fitness routine, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to combine leisure with wellness.

She shared a fast-forwarded video outlining her exercise regimen, as a nostalgic throwback, from her days spent in a Mediterranean nation.

The famous television personality carried out her daily regimen, reaching for her toes with extended limbs, focusing on her abdominal muscles, all while performing a ballet-inspired workout on the balcony.

Following her exercise routine, she stepped up to a chilly outdoor shower before demonstrating remarkable flexibility during stretches and yoga poses on the deck.

Later, the actress ventured off to the gym where she amazed spectators by flawlessly executing a headstand. Subsequently, she donned a comfortable white robe for a relaxing massage and acupuncture session.
