Keeley Hawes’ drama Finding Alice is getting a new streaming home in the UK.
The show that premiered on ITV on Sundays during the early months of 2021 is set to arrive on Netflix on Friday, 1st August.
The production narrates the tale of a woman who experiences an unexpected tragedy when her husband meets his untimely demise after falling down the staircase.
Following his passing, she discovers that he has been hiding some dark secrets.
In addition to Hawes, the show boasts the talents of Nigel Havers from “Coronation Street”, Gemma Jones known for her role in “Bridget Jones”, Joanna Lumley famed from “Absolutely Fabulous”, and Jason Merrells hailing from “Waterloo Road”.
Although some might expect “Finding Alice” to be a murder mystery, as stated by its director and co-writer, Roger Golby, during its premiere Q&A session (as reported by Radio Times), it turns out that it’s not.
“It isn’t a whodunnit, it’s Alice’s story through grief,” he said. “And I guess we needed story.
Sudden or unexpected deaths inevitably stir shock, uncover hidden truths, and create chaos – these elements emerged quite spontaneously from such a situation.
In the early part of this year, Hawes made an appearance in the fresh BBC production titled “Miss Austen“. In this role, she portrayed Cassandra Austen, Jane’s less famed elder sister.
At Digital Spy, we expressed that while “Miss Austen” may not be flawless, it carries a genuine warmth. As for Hawes’ portrayal, we noted it as one of his more restrained performances, making the character seem real and solid, mirroring the realistic tone of the narrative itself.

Finding Alice can be streamed now on ITVX and will be coming to Netflix on 1 August.
