On Thursday, the actress known for “Underworld” shared the sad news that her mother, Loe, passed away on Tuesday evening. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, she expressed that Loe died peacefully in her arms, ending a long period of intense suffering.

Born on March 6, 1947, in Manchester, Loe had a multifaceted career that started in the 1970s, accumulating numerous credits primarily on British television series. She made her breakthrough on the ITV fantasy series “Ace of Wands” in the 70’s and continued to appear in various programs for the network such as “The Chief,” “Crown Court,” “Let There Be Love,” and “Goodnight and God Bless.

During the course of her acting career, Loe played diverse characters such as a magician’s assistant in “Ace of Wands”, a popular divorcee in “Singles”, and a spacecraft commander in “Space Island One”. Her latest role was a minor character in the TV miniseries “Fool Me Once” which premiered in 2024.

Tragically, Richard Beckinsale passed away at the age of 31 due to a heart attack.

In 1997, Loe tied the knot again with TV director Roy Battersby. Unfortunately, he passed away in January 2024 following a short illness, at the age of 87.

In her speech, Kate Beckinsale honored her mother, commending her for her lasting impact, generous spirit, and bravery during her last year on earth.

Beckinsale went on to say: “She’s shown great courage in numerous instances, forgiving excessively at times, maintaining faith in the goodness of people even when the world seems dismal without her, which makes it almost unbearable.

Loe is survived by six stepchildren in addition to her daughter, according to the Guardian.
