For a long while, players of Delta Force have been clamoring for something specific, and now it’s finally here – an all-new Assault-class operator called Tempest has made its debut in Delta Force! Tempest was presented to the gaming community on July 9th as part of the Season 5 update. In addition to Tempest, Delta Force boasts various operators from different classes. Among them, Tempest stands out as an excellent choice for your primary Assault-class operator, thanks to their impressive skillset.

In this write-up, I’ll delve into the advantages and disadvantages of the recently introduced Tempest operator in Delta Force. Additionally, I’ll share valuable strategies and techniques for using Tempest effectively, enhancing your combat efficiency and streamlining your gameplay with her.

Delta Force Tempest Guide

Abilities and Traits

In the newest addition to the game, we have an operator named Claire Ann Byers, who is an Assault-class character, boasting exceptional skills and characteristics. Her key ability is called Auxiliary Spine Surge, making her a valuable choice during close-quarter battles with high levels of confusion or turmoil. Furthermore, additional attributes and tactical equipment make her even more effective in specific situations.

After the release of Tempest in Delta Force, I immediately gave her a spin across various game modes. From my extensive comparison of her abilities, equipment, and characteristics against other operators, it’s clear to me that she stands out as the top choice for an assault-class character in this game.

To enjoy playing with Tempest, you should retrieve her from the complimentary route in Season 5 of the Delta Force Battle Pass. Fortunately, it doesn’t require purchasing the premium pass, which is beneficial for gamers who play for free.

Play the game either in Player vs Player (PvP) or Player vs Environment (PvE) mode and progress in the Battle Pass to reach a tier that awards her. In addition to Tempest, you’ll find numerous other operators in Delta Force. For more information on them, feel free to check out our Operator Tier List.

Trait: Combat Roll

As a devoted admirer, I’d love to delve into one of her standout features – the Combat Roll. This unique ability triggers spontaneously and unleashes Tempest’s hidden auxiliary spine, augmenting her core strength for rapid, agile rolls in various directions. It does have a cooling-off period, but if you manage to floor opponents during this downtime, the cooldown shortens. This skill is simply brilliant for swiftly repositioning on the battlefield!

Trait: Auxiliary Spine Surge

The characteristic titled Auxiliary Spine Surge in Tempest functions passively. Should she sense danger from bullets or explosives in close proximity, an electrical charge is emitted by her auxiliary spine. This boosts her primary muscles significantly and heightens her running speed.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share an intriguing aspect about this character – it significantly boosts its swimming pace under typical circumstances. This remarkable ability makes it incredibly valuable in water-themed levels such as the whirlpool map known as Cyclone.

Ability: Emergency Evasion Device

Tempest’s primary feature is referred to as the Quick Escape Mechanism. This device doubles as her strategic equipment. Upon inserting a gas tank into this mechanism, it sets up a secure tether point. When activated again or when she sustains critical damage, Tempest will be retracted towards the tether point. In the process of being pulled back, she can momentarily endure harm beyond her maximum health limit.

If she’s knocked out during this action, she has the option to self-resuscitate using her backup spinal defibrillator once. However, at present, it can only be used in Operations mode. The safety rope will automatically switch to suspension mode for up to 5 minutes when Tempest falls a certain distance. In my view, it’s the most effective secondary revival skill in Delta Force.

Gadget and Weapons

When referring to Assault operators, they are renowned for their ability to breach tough enemy fortifications and barriers. In the same vein, Tempest excels in this regard. Her primary tool is the Drill Charge. With this gadget, Tempest hurls a mechanical drill that swiftly penetrates solid structures.

Subsequently, it emits a powder that conducts electricity and generates electric pulses that permeate the coverings. This unique electrical pulse disables adversaries and momentarily immobilizes them for approximately 3 seconds, giving her ample time to ignite the location. The electric field generated by these currents has a radius of about 7 by 3 meters, but it doesn’t cause any harm.

Delta Force Tempest Guide: Gameplay Tips

1. Mobility is key

As a gamer piloting Tempest, I always aim to leverage her extraordinary agility. She’s incredibly swift, and her complementary traits make her a nimble warrior indeed. When the heat is on, I utilize her Combat Roll ability to dart from one cover spot to another in an instant. It’s a lifesaver when bullets are flying, letting me slip behind cover without missing a beat. I also make sure to take down enemies while hunkered down, as this not only keeps me safe but significantly reduces the cooldown time on my roll.

2. Use the scenario accordingly

In our previous conversation, I mentioned that Tempest possesses abilities to navigate and swim more swiftly. Now let’s put those skills into action during actual battles. If you find yourself in the Cyclone map or any other area with water proximity, promptly dive into the water and employ the Auxiliary Spine Surge trait to maneuver rapidly through the water. Position yourself strategically and surprise your opponents. This is one reason why Tempest excels at flanking attacks.

Mistakes to Avoid with Tempest

  • Do not play like a Tank: As you already know that Tempest is great in duels and close-combats and thrives in chaos, but it doesn’t make her a tank. Simply, she is not built for sustained gunfights. Avoid holding choke-points or pushing head-on into enemies. If the enemy has a heavy-armored operator or a well-covered attacker, you will get shredded in no time.
  • Avoid long-range fights: Tempest’s biggest strength is her mobility. So, it is best when you play her in the close range. Enemies will find it very hard to take her down in close-range thanks to her fast movements and skills. Try to use those advantages and get the upper hand in the battles.

Best Team Compositions with Tempest

To maximize Tempest’s effectiveness on the battlefield, consider the following team compositions:

  • Uluru: Uluru goes pretty well with Tempest thanks to its ability to provide proper cover to other operators and act like a tank. His Quickset Cover gadget can help Tempest a lot while she is in her cooldown period or healing herself during the battles. His Incendiary Grenade also synergizes well with Tempest’s Drill Charge.
  • Shepherd: He is a tailor-made companion for Tempest. If you pair Shepherd’s Sonic Paralysis and Sonic Trap with Tempest’s Drill Charge, it can deal massive damage to the enemies and can easily take down a whole team at once. You can also get profit from his GE2 Frag Grenade as it can deal good damage to all the paralyzed enemies.

Final Thoughts

In Delta Force circles, Tempest is generating quite a buzz due to her exceptional versatility and impressive array of skills. She stands out as an exceptional assault-class operator, often emerging victorious in 1vs1 situations, thanks to her superior mobility and equipment.

As a gamer, I can assure you that adding her to your squad will significantly enhance both your strategic and offensive prowess on the field. Yet, she’s relatively fresh, still untested in various gameplay situations. The verdict is not yet out on whether she’ll become a gaming legend or not! This Delta Force Tempest Guide aims to help you maximize her potential for optimal results.
