Real Housewives of New Jersey star risks new war with Teresa Giudice as she makes scathing remarks about her money problems

Despite a break in filming, Teresa Giudice’s financial difficulties continue to be a topic among the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Back in March, news broke out about Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and her husband Louis “Louie” Ruelas having a tax debt exceeding $3 million to the state of New Jersey.

So far, Teresa, who is 53 years old, has managed to clear a tax lien worth $303,889 that was imposed on her earlier this year. Similarly, Louie, aged 50, has successfully settled a tax lien of $163,523 due in December 2024.

Based on documents reviewed by Daily Mail, there’s a total of $2,569,842 still owed in taxes, due to a lien filed against Louie in March by the state.

At a Bella magazine gathering on Tuesday, Margaret Josephs from RHONJ spoke to the Daily Mail about the cast’s reactions to the reported financial difficulties facing the couple. (58 years old)

At the vibrant Shorechella event hosted by Bella magazine, I found myself expressing thoughts that resonate with many: ‘We all face difficult times, and none of us seek misfortune. Despite individual feelings towards her, it’s unsettling for everyone to witness a ship on the verge of sinking.’

Margaret is particularly recognized for her strained connection with Teresa, and has a very close bond with Melissa Gorga, who is Teresa’s sister-in-law and currently estranged from her.

In response to questions about her costar’s financial troubles, she openly expressed sympathy, stating, “I genuinely feel compassionate towards her. Nobody desires such a situation, and I sincerely hope she manages to free herself from it.

‘Truthfully, it’s an unfortunate circumstance for that to happen [to] her again.’

She went on to express: “Well, it’s tough…I’m just struggling to find the right words. It’s tough, I must admit. I can’t help but wish she had chosen a more suitable partner for herself, but at the same time, I feel empathetic.

‘I don’t want anything bad for her. I never did.’

In August 2022, nearly a year following their engagement, Teresa tied the knot with Louie in a lavish ceremony. This extravagant event was captured for a unique episode.

When asked if Louie has been positive for her life, Margaret responded, ‘Obviously not!’

‘I hope he helps get out of everything,’ she added.

Instead, she expressed that she rarely considers them honestly unless asked. She makes an effort to avoid thinking about them.

Upon hearing about Teresa and Louie’s recent legal troubles, fans speculated that Teresa had seemingly ‘failed to heed any lessons’ from her previous marriage, given that she and her ex-husband Joe Giudice were both imprisoned in 2014 following their guilty plea for a combined 41 counts of bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud.

Joe also admitted to not filing a tax return from 2004 through 2008.

In the end, Teresa served a sentence of 11 months in a federal penitentiary. Later on, Joe was imprisoned for 41 months. After that, he was expelled to Italy in 2019; however, at present, he resides in the Bahamas.

He’s been eagerly pleading for a pardon from President Donald Trump so that he can once again be with his four daughters – Gia (age 24), Gabriella (age 20), Milania (age 19), and Audriana (age 15) – in the United States.

The mother of four has not dealt with her tax issues and chose to end an interview with Chicago’s WGN-9 News on June 20, as captured in a widely shared video.

When one of the show’s hosts inquired, “Why hasn’t a family been paying their taxes for such a long time?”, an evidently irritated Giudice responded, “Alright, I’ve had enough now.

After struggling to end her call, the puzzled hosts pondered, “Didn’t she enjoy that question? Isn’t it customary for the show?” (or alternatively, “Wasn’t that question to her liking? Aren’t such interactions typical for this program?”)

Margaret expressed her wish that she could have shown Teresa the ropes of crisis PR, given her expertise in the field. She also mentioned that Teresa might have responded differently to a recent question, implying that Teresa’s answer was not satisfactory.

She expressed that she believes a different approach would have been more effective during the interview.

Since the end of Season 14, airing on August 4, 2024, and the unique reunion where the split cast members filmed in different rooms, the fashion designer has not heard from Teresa.

She shared with the Daily Mail that their parting was extremely disappointing, and she made it clear that they may not rebuild their relationship in the future.

She expressed that it seems our relationship has come to an end, yet she harbors no ill feelings towards her or her family. I wish them nothing but happiness moving forward, but I believe the chance for us is gone now.

Fans of RHONJ are left guessing about the show’s future, as neither the original cast nor any possible new members have started shooting yet.

In a recent chat on The View, I shared that our show had taken a significant break, but I’m thrilled to say we’re now actively seeking new talent and exploring possibilities for our future.

At the moment, it’s undecided whether any cast members will come back for the upcoming season, or if the series will get a revival.

I simply couldn’t get enough last season, as it delved into the lives of Margaret, Teresa, Melissa, Rachel Fuda, Dolores Catania, Danielle Cabral, and Jennifer Aydin, not forgetting Jackie Goldschneider, a cherished friend of the show. It was like being a part of their exclusive circle!

Margaret shared with Daily Mail that she recommended certain individuals to casting directors, but as of now, there’s no new information available.

Instead, it’s worth noting that she is scheduled to attend BravoCon in Las Vegas this November, joining Teresa, Melissa, and Dolores from Real Housewives of New Jersey who have also been confirmed for the event.
