Holly Hagan blasts Geordie Shore’s ‘lack of duty of care’ as she shares regrets on starring on MTV show as a ‘young and naive 18-year-old’ – after revealing devastating miscarriage

Holly Hagan has blasted Geordie Shore’s ‘lack of duty of care‘ in an Instagram Q&A on Thursday.

The television personality, aged 33, admitted that at 18, she was quite inexperienced and likely required advice when she initially appeared on the MTV program.

In 2011, Holly became a part of the lively reality TV series. She eventually left the show in a dramatic fashion towards the end of 2016.

The woman with one child openly expressed that she wished there had been someone who could have intervened to prevent her from consuming alcohol excessively, as she voiced her remorse about participating in the program.

‘Do you have any regrets from Geordie Shore?’, a fan questioned.

Holly replied: ‘Looking back, I really wish someone had intervened that first night to prevent the guys from encouraging me to continue drinking shots.’

At that time, I hadn’t tried a Jägerbomb before, yet. Granted, I always make my decisions, and I own up to them, but looking back, I was only eighteen, quite inexperienced, and perhaps could have benefited from some care or guidance in that situation.

TopMob has contacted Geordie Shore for comment.

Previously, the celebrity – mom to Alpha-Jax, aged 2 – together with her spouse, Jacob Blyth, disclosed that they experienced a miscarriage back in March.

In the Q&A, sh she was asked about having more children.

When asked, “Are you going to have more kids? You’re such a fantastic mom,” Holly, who gained popularity on the MTV show in 2011, shared some sad news and requested her fans to desist from questioning her about having children.

Overlaid on an image of two pregnancy tests, Holly penned: ‘Though most queries revolve around when we might be expecting another, and I’m frequently reminded that AJ could use a sibling, let me assure you – I AM AWARE!’

Initially, I was hesitant to discuss this matter as I wasn’t sure how to approach it, and I didn’t desire sympathy. However, I felt it necessary to share that we experienced a miscarriage in March.

A gentle reminder, please consider your phrasing when asking about future events. It can be challenging for us to predict exact dates.

Holly tends to be open and honest on social media, regularly sharing her experiences, both positive and challenging, as a mother since the arrival of Alpha-Jax in June 2023.

She shared her experiences with BBC regarding her struggle with postpartum anxiety, including persistent worries about her child’s wellbeing.

Holly shared that she experienced intense postpartum anxiety, constantly fretting over every little thing. Although it might sound grim, her thoughts were consumed by the fear that Alpha-Jax could be in danger at any moment.

For several weeks, no guests came over due to my concern that he might get sick. I regret being overly anxious and not trusting myself more in such situations. However, it seems worrying about these matters is quite common…

‘He managed to outlive every single visitor, and now he attends nursery! I take great pride in his survival and see how he has grown into a joyful, self-assured young lad.’

This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural language and phrasing for a smoother read.

‘Alpha-Jax brings so much joy to our days, and his spirit is truly infectious. Even when he’s having a difficult time, he still manages to brighten up our day.’
