The initial series of the critically-acclaimed crime drama starring James Norton, known as Grantchester, has found a fresh streaming platform for viewing.

Under their recent partnership, content from both ITV and Disney is now streamable on each other’s platforms. For instance, shows like Mr Bates vs The Post Office and Endeavour can be found on Disney+, while The Bear and Andor are now available on ITVX.

Among them is the first season of Grantchester, which fans can stream now on Disney+.

For the initial four seasons, Norton portrayed the lead character, Reverend Sidney Chambers. Then, starting from the fifth season, Tom Brittney assumed the main role as Will Davenport. In season 9, Rishi Nair stepped into the role of Reverend Alphy Kotteram.

Supporters of the series were deeply disappointed earlier this month upon hearing that the television series known as Grantchester is set to conclude after completing its 11th season.

The last episodes will take place during the summer of 1963. As Alphy grapples with doubts about his convictions and considers alternative paths, DI Geordie Keating (played by Robson Green) finds himself in turmoil when the Chief Superintendent presents him with an intriguing proposition.

In Season 11, I’ll find myself pondering the choices I’ve made, as we all do, and some monumental decisions are on the horizon. This season is a deep dive into themes of family, forgiveness, self-discovery, and belief – aspects that resonate profoundly with me.

According to its creator, Daisy Coulam, at its core, “Grantchester” is a series that explores the importance of friendship and love. For eleven seasons now, we’ve been fortunate enough to witness this connection both in front of and behind the camera.

We’ve been gathering together, cast and crew (some of whom joined right from the start), every Summer for more than ten years now, to film. It’s been an incredible experience… A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this show, in any capacity – whether it was a major role or a small part. I’ll deeply miss each and every one of you.
