ITV’s beloved “must-see” British detective drama will reach a whole new audience at new streamer

An iconic British detective series produced by ITV will broaden its fanbase by becoming available on yet another popular streaming platform, thanks to a significant contract agreement.

Temporarily, Disney+ subscribers can catch the first season of the series called “Endeavour.” Enjoy it while you can!

Under this deal between ITV and Disney, both their streaming services will feature a shared ‘A Taste Of’ segment, allowing users to access content from either platform without incurring additional costs.

To date, we’ve witnessed “Mr Bates vs The Post Office” becoming available on Disney+, as well as “Guardians of the Galaxy” gracing ITVX. Moreover, “The Bear” is anticipated to join ITVX soon.

The content within each “A Taste of” segment will be periodically updated, which means some items might be removed while new ones are included.

The show called “Endeavour” serves as a precursor to “Inspector Morse,” delving into the initial stages of Morse’s career, where he was a young detective constable.

It ran for nine seasons between 2012 and 2023, finishing with a total of 36 episodes.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a 90% rating from critics and a 92% rating from viewers.

One enthusiast remarked, “It’s as compelling as any TV show ever made.” A captivating blend of intriguing mysteries, exceptional storytelling, and well-crafted characters makes it a must-watch for all fans of these elements.

This series serves as an excellent starting point for the expansive Inspector Morse series. Shaun Evans delivers a remarkable performance as young Endeavour, just as Roger Allam does as Inspector Thursday, according to another’s assessment.
