Over the weekend, it was apparent that Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow, is the family’s free spirit, as she was seen expressing her unique style in East Hampton.
As a dedicated follower and a 21-year-old student at Vanderbilt majoring in Law, History, and Society, I find myself adopting a more relaxed wellness philosophy compared to my famous mom’s strict avoidance of processed foods, dairy, sugar, and salt.
On a Sunday, she was seen collecting takeout from an Italian eatery, specifically two pizza types adorned with zucchini and rosemary.
The meal seemed to contain the right amount of green vegetables to maintain a Goop-like appearance, since there was a possibility that her mother might be joining for dinner.
For quite some time now, I’ve been diligently adhering to a highly restrictive Paleo lifestyle. However, as recently shared in April, I find myself yearning for a change – feeling somewhat fatigued by the caveman diet and craving a broader approach to eating exceptionally healthfully.
In a particular podcast episode, the Academy Award-winning host confessed that she started enjoying modest amounts of pasta, as well as treats such as sourdough bread and cheese.

In the year 2022, Paltrow acknowledged that both her children, Moses (aged 19), were cultivating their personal approaches to health and wellness.
He’s sixteen years old and resists taking vitamins; it’s about recognizing when to step back and allow him privacy, as stated by Paltrow regarding her youngest child.
She added: ‘I avoid imposing anything on them. Growing up, they’ve been exposed to wellness as a priority, so they’ll take on what appeals to them, if they wish. They possess the freedom to make their own choices.’
The actress also acknowledged that she can’t expect her kids to eat clean all the time.
The artist shared their approach: ‘At home, I aim to keep healthier options available.’ However, ‘they make their own choices’ and when away from home, ‘I’m confident they indulge in cookies and fast food.’ To each their own!
When they were younger, she tried to get her children to stick to a low-carb, gluten-free diet.
In her 2013 Goop newsletter, she expressed that at first she encouraged them to eat healthy options like carrots with hummus, but as they grew up, the appeal of Oreos and cotton candy became stronger than that of healthier snacks. She acknowledged this as a normal part of childhood and mentioned her own fondness for Oreos as well, showing understanding.
Paltrow mentioned that she consistently aimed to ensure her family’s meals at home were both nutritious and delicious, but allowed for a bit more flexibility when dining out.

The Iron Man confessed that they enjoy a stir-fry with brown rice, as well as their chosen Coke each week. My girl prefers fresh fruit and uncooked nuts, but she can quickly devour a bag of hot Cheetos at airports. It’s all about finding the right balance in their diet.
Additionally, she shared with her audience that she began involving her children in the kitchen almost since their birth.
Paltrow reminisced about how her children were often close by when she was cooking, either strapped to her back or seated in a highchair observing and making noise with spoons. She actively involved them from an early age, allowing them to perform tasks that seemed potentially risky, such as cracking eggs or stirring food gently over heat. These experiences always made them feel proud, she said. As they grew older, they began learning math concepts using measuring cups and ounces in their cooking activities.
In April, Apple confirmed to Interview that she loves to cook.
She delightfully shared, “It’s fantastic being on my own in an apartment, since I can cook regularly! My homemade garlic bread is incredible, out-of-this-world good. And let me tell you, I particularly enjoy crafting Caesar salad from scratch – making the dressing and croutons myself.
Just like her mother, she too enjoys and regularly participates in Tracy Anderson’s vigorous dance workout sessions and aerobics classes.
