LoL patch notes 25.14: Yunara, new meta game, Kled rework, and more

Here’s what players can expect when the LoL patch notes 25.14 goes live on July 16.

In simple terms, Riot Games is about to publish the patch notes for League of Legends (LoL) version 25.14. After Gen.G won the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2025, they have noticed some champions performing too well and receiving buffs that have disrupted the professional meta. They plan to adjust these overperforming champions. Additionally, there will be a small change to Kled, as he will no longer build lethality items. A new ADC character named Yunara is also set to join the game soon, so make sure to review her abilities before using her in your solo queue games.

In these latest update notes from Riot Games, they’ve introduced a fresh twist to the gameplay with two new modes – ‘The Battle of Koeshin’ and ‘Koeshin’s Courtyard’. Take a look at the summary of League of Legends patch 25.14 below.

Yunara release

At long last, our enchanting character, Yunara, is set to debut in League of Legends! As with all fresh characters, she’ll be accompanied by a brand-new skin. This time around, Yunara will be a part of the alluring Spirit Blossom Springs skin collection.

New meta game

In this fresh meta-game, you’ll delve deeper into Yunara’s past by embarking on a 2D side-scrolling brawl journey, assuming control of both Yunara and Xin Zhao. The game progresses across three stages where you’ll battle to bring tranquility back to the festival (The Battle of Koeshin).

In the second area (Koeshin’s Courtyard), you should rebuild relationships with spirits that you know by making friends with them again. For each spirit’s rank, just one petal is needed, and you can obtain these petals easily by playing League of Legends. To get all the rewards, you will need a total of 20 petals, but there are also some handy advantages to help you progress faster:

* The phrasing is kept as close to the original as possible while maintaining clarity for readers who may not be familiar with gaming terms like “rank” or “petals.”
* The instructions are organized in a logical sequence: first identifying the task (reconnecting with spirits), then explaining how to accomplish it (by playing League of Legends and earning petals), and finally mentioning the goal (unlocking rewards) and additional helpful resources (bonuses for faster progress).

  • Purchasing the Battle Pass grants you 3 petals instantly.
  • You’ll earn a 30% petal bonus when playing as Xin Zhao, Yunara, or using any Spirit Blossom skin.
  • Equipping a 2025 Spirit Blossom skin boosts your petal gain by 100%.

Note: These bonuses don’t stack. The maximum bonus you can earn is 100%.

LoL patch notes 25.14: Champions updates

Nerfs

During the MSI 2025, Braum and Lee Sin were highly favored champions, but they will now experience stat reductions, also known as nerfs. Similarly, Riven has been overly powerful and will undergo some adjustments. However, these changes are minor, so Riven mains need not worry excessively. The same applies to Yasuo and Sett. In contrast, Twisted Fate and Zoe will face larger nerfs, primarily affecting their damage capacity.

Buffs

Azir and Fizz have been less frequently seen in solo queue due to their relative weakness compared to other AP champions. Riot is planning to strengthen them with buffs. Meanwhile, Briar and Darius will receive minor adjustments to make them more viable in the queue. Lastly, a long-standing bug affecting Fiora will be addressed, along with the restoration of some previous functionalities to enhance her teamfight potential.

Credit for the strongest performance in the mid-lane goes to Zigg. For quite some time, he’s been underperforming, but in the League of Legends patch notes 25.14, Riot Games is restoring his powerful attacks without unfairly boosting his bot lane influence.

Kled rework in the LoL patch notes 25.14

If you’ve been playing League of Legends for some time, you might have encountered diverse Kled builds. When Kled opts for assassin items, his gameplay style tends to focus on a narrow approach, focusing on landing a single ability to swiftly eliminate squishy opponents. Yet, this build falls short in providing the resilience and versatility necessary to make significant contributions during teamfights or exert influence beyond securing quick kills. Riot is now aiming to encourage tankier and more enduring builds for Kled instead.

Items adjustments in the LoL patch notes 25.14

In the League of Legends patch notes version 25.14, not only will some items and runes get an update, but champions’ rewards (bounties) will also undergo a minor modification. Initially, the influence of farming on bounty calculations is being lessened, making kills more significant in determining bounties. This adjustment aims to make bounties align better with what players anticipate. Furthermore, bounty suppression will now cover a larger area (25% wider). This should result in a smoother activation and deactivation of bounties, making them seem less sudden or unpredictable.

Upcoming skins

Beyond the introduction of the Yunara skin, there are also upcoming Nightbringer and Dawnbringer skins in store. These skins are part of a fresh approach by Riot Games to unveil new cosmetic items for champions within existing thematic lines (Variety Skins). In the League of Legends patch notes 25.14, Hecarim, Yummi, and Kalista will be immersed in the Nightbringer/Dawnbringer universe.
