Kelly Ripa drags ‘repulsive’ husband Mark Consuelos over his ‘disgusting’ morning sex routine

Kelly Ripa isn’t here for early-morning romance — and she’s not afraid to say it.

During a chat on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the co-host of Live with Kelly and Mark, aged 54, openly discussed her husband Mark Consuelos‘ particular preferences in their shared bedroom, admitting that she finds his timing quite off-putting.

Ripa remarked that she finds it distasteful, adding that her husband, Consuelos (who is also 54), prefers sexual activities exclusively during the early hours of the day.

However, Ripa mentioned something else – he’s excited about giving her a morning kiss, but she doesn’t find it appealing or romantic.

She mentioned that she has a retainer in her mouth and needs to remove it, saying, “I need to take that out.” Additionally, he is wearing nasal strips, which gives the impression that they seem unusually unattractive or unappealing.

She didn’t stop there, adding with a laugh: ‘I’m already pre-disgusted for tomorrow morning.’

They first crossed paths as a long-standing duo on the All My Children production in 1995, and they exchanged wedding vows the very next year.

They’ve since welcomed three children together: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22.

On the podcast, Ripa playfully remarked that he’ll never change, referring to him as a man. She then shared that she’s established certain guidelines regarding intimate moments with her husband of 29 years, clarifying when they are and aren’t appropriate.

She remembered saying, “Let me explain,” to him. It’s crucial to strike a balance – not everything should be according to you since it often feels like 90% of the time it is. Now that we work together closely, there will be times when things need to be done my way, and my way only applies at night.

Although Consuelos might lean towards morning romances, Ripa has made it apparent that such occurrences aren’t part of their daily routine – particularly since they both host Live with Kelly and Mark together.

She mentioned that despite disliking it initially, there’s something extraordinary about this job that makes her not want to skip it during weekdays, almost miraculously.

Subsequently, with a characteristic wit, she quipped: ‘May this performance outlast his bouts with impotence.’

Kelly Ripa inquired, with a laugh, as to why the process hadn’t started yet, remarking, “Aren’t things supposed to be unfolding now? I thought it was supposed to happen by now!

Even with the jokes and occasional misaligned timing, Ripa didn’t hesitate to discuss the secrets behind maintaining the passion in their nearly 30-year-long marriage.

She compared their relationship to regular exercise, saying that the more they engage in it, the more they want to continue. She also added that sometimes, you need to initiate it first, and then you’ll find yourself thinking, “Ah, now I recall why I enjoy this.

However, she acknowledged that maintaining that spark hasn’t always been straightforward – indeed, it’s been particularly challenging amidst the turmoil of parenthood and career responsibilities.

She mentioned that you’re feeling tired, your children are still quite young, you’re putting in long hours at work, and you’ve got a lot going on. It’s easy for those things to slip your mind,” she explained.

Indeed, it’s not the initial occasion where Kelly Ripa has been candidly frank regarding her and Mark’s intimate relationship.

In 2023, on their podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” the couple shared insights on maintaining their romantic connection while he was occupied with filming “Riverdale” for a prolonged period (10 months) in 2020.

Ripa disclosed that they initiated what she termed ‘intimate practices’ over FaceTime, and confessed these activities became quite adventurous.

She labeled them as absurd, playfully commenting that during their online meetings, she felt quite intimate with herself.

Regarding the visual aspect of those video calls with her husband, Ripa shared an amusing story: “I grew so concerned about my appearance on FaceTime that I began to set up the computer on a ladder,” she said. “I positioned the computer atop a ladder this way, so I could look up at Mark and he wouldn’t have to see the effects of gravity on me,” she jokingly added.

Mark was straightforward as well, openly stating that any instance where she might withdraw physically or emotionally could potentially become a significant issue for him within their marriage.

I eagerly shared my thoughts, emphasizing that unless there was a situation where one had a medical condition and thus lost control over their body, it seemed unlikely.

Ripa pointed out that they had experienced periods of abstinence during her menopause. In response, Consuelos said, “I didn’t grant you any respite. There were never any months without intimacy unless I was abroad.

Approaching their third decade together, it’s evident that these two haven’t lost the spark – they continue to innovate and add excitement, at times employing a ladder and some clever technological ingenuity.
