On Saturday evenings, starting in September, the beloved BBC program is set to add a touch of glitz and pizzazz back to our TVs.

A diverse array of well-known figures are said to be signing up for the show, as celebrities across various fields are daringly stepping onto the dance floor.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming season, which seems poised to feature legends from our neighborhood, as well as two renowned figures from reality television and an influential sports figure. It promises to be quite a spectacle!

Neighbours veteran Stefan Dennis

Neighbours veteran Stefan Dennis has reportedly signed up to appear on the new series of Strictly. 

The 66-year-old actor, who portrayed the womanizing and evil Paul Robinson in an Australian soap opera for four decades, concluded his shooting for the series’ last episode on a Friday.

Now that he has left Ramsay Street, it’s said he’ll be displaying his dancing skills on the dance floor instead.

A source shared with The Sun, “Stefan is a significant figure in the soap and is expected to gain popularity among Strictly viewers. Executives at the BBC are optimistic that Stefan’s participation will boost viewership.

He’s openly expressed his desire to appear on Strictly Come Dancing, and he’s fully committed to giving his best during the training process.

TopMob has contacted representatives for Strictly Come Dancing and Stefan for comment.

On Friday at Nunawading Studios in Australia, Stefan spent a moving final day on set with his co-actors, wrapping up filming for the soap’s concluding episode.

Since its premiere in 1985, he’s been a mainstay on the soap opera “Neighbours.” He left the series in 1992, but reappeared again in 2004.

Acknowledging the significant role it played in his success, he enthusiastically notes that without this bar of soap, he would not have crossed paths with extraordinary individuals or lived through unforgettable moments.

Stefan pondered: ‘I never imagined that just one performance could offer me the most thrilling experiences of my professional life, covering a span of four decades.’

The influence of neighbors is immense, and it has given rise to globally recognized figures such as Kylie Minogue and Margot Robbie, earning them an unexpected level of cultural importance in the United Kingdom.

The last episode will broadcast on December 11, following three cancellations that fans have seen the dramatic series undergo.

Two short years back, I, as an ardent fan, found myself bracing for what was hyped as the grand finale. But just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Amazon miraculously stepped in to save the day!

 

Stacey Solomon

This year in April, news broke out that Stacey was invited by BBC executives to participate in this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing, following her public admission of being a big fan and self-proclaimed ‘addict’ of the series.

35-year-old presenter garnered the attention of the producers following her win at the National Television Awards for her BBC One show Sort Your Life Out in September.

A source told The Sun: ‘Stacey is a hit with viewers thanks to her lovable personality.

BBC aims to feature their own artists on shows like Strictly and Stacey’s program, and they have already received a National Television Award for it.

The mother of five boasts a substantial social media audience, who keenly track the day-to-day activities of her family, including herself, her husband Joe Swash, as well as their children Zachary (17), Leighton (12), Rex (5), Rose (3), and Belle (2).

‘In addition, fans can look forward to seeing Joe Swash supporting his wife each week in the crowd.’

TopMob contacted both the BBC and Stacey’s representatives for comment at the time.

Stacey hinted at considering participating in Strictly Come Dancing 2022 by stating: “I might not rule it out entirely, but I must admit I’m a really bad dancer – terribly bad, in fact. I can’t explain why, but I seem to lack rhythm when it comes to moving.

‘When it comes to vocal rhythms or enjoying tunes, I’m quite in sync. However, when it comes to dancing, I could use a few more right feet – I seem to have two left ones!’

She continued, “I’m truly captivated by it, specifically the costumes. Moreover, I find myself yearning to acquire a new talent similar to this one. Truthfully, I enjoy learning almost anything.

As a committed follower, I might find myself expressing, “I would likely be among those individuals who, after the first week, could say, ‘That didn’t seem worth my time!’

 

Dani Dyer  

On the popular reality show Love Island, she gained recognition for her relatable demeanor that touched the hearts of many viewers across the country.

It’s been recently announced that Dani Dyer is taking a significant step forward in her career, as she has agreed to participate in the popular show, Strictly Come Dancing.

It’s said that the star, number 28, will likely appear in the upcoming season. According to The Sun, she has already agreed to a contract for the program and is currently negotiating her salary.

According to a source, the bosses are delighted that she has decided to participate and are currently negotiating her compensation.

She’s lively, straightforward, and genuine, and producers believe she would be a great fit for the show. Plus, it’s an added advantage that Jarrod and her father Danny will be cheering her on from the audience.

TopMob contacted the BBC and Dani’s reps for comment.

Last year, Danny, who is now 47 and an actor, shared that he’s frequently approached to participate in Strictly Come Dancing, but he always declines because it doesn’t suit his interests.

In conversation with The Sun, the popular television personality disclosed the explanation for his consistent refusal to participate in the cherished BBC program.

In a typical manner characteristic of Danny, he conveyed to the news outlet, “Every year, I receive offers for Strictly Come Dancing, but it doesn’t appeal to me. I have no inclination towards prancing about in sequins.

 

Vicky Pattison 

The news about Stefan possibly joining Strictly this season follows reports from this week suggesting that Vicky was also invited to participate in the show this year.

The well-known personality from reality TV, aged 37, reportedly piqued the interest of producers when she enthusiastically supported her friend Pete Wicks during a previous season’s shows. Now, they are eager to move her into the limelight and give her the main role.

According to the source, Vicky admired Pete’s performances in the series and was amazed by the level of detail put into each act.

‘She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers.

It comes after a busy few years for Vicky who married her partner Ercan Ramadan in 2024. 

 

Paul C Brunson

Previously, it had been reported that Paul C. Brunson might join the BBC series, as producers were hopeful he wouldn’t succumb to the series’ infamous “curse”.

For more than a decade, the infamous “Strictly Curse” has been a common topic in gossip columns, stemming from the belief that participating in the show can lead to problems in contestants’ romantic relationships.

Currently, it’s said that the producers are allegedly interested in recruiting Paul, a well-known, clean-cut relationship expert, who has made a name for himself on popular Channel 4 series like Married At First Sight UK and Celebs Go Dating.

The well-known American actor currently residing in London is perceived as a reliable choice, and could be exactly what Strictly Come Dancing requires after the past two seasons filled with drama.

He has been married to his partner Jill since 2000. 

According to a source, Paul could be just what Strictly needs to lift the gloom, given his wholesome image, impressive intellect, and lack of any controversy.

‘They are now in discussion but he’s met with producers a number of times. 

‘Everyone is hoping he’ll sign on the dotted line and is keen to make it happen.’ 

 

Gladiators star Nitro 

Actor Nitro, famously known from Gladiators, is reportedly joining this year’s show following his impressive display during the holiday special that left BBC producers in awe.

36-year-old individual with extraordinary abilities participated in the celebratory event of the previous year, partnered with renowned dancer Nancy Xu.

Now, it seems that Harry Aikines Aryeetey, also known as Nitro, has apparently consented to make an appearance in the upcoming series this fall.

A show insider told The Sun how the ex-Olympian had been on bosses’ wish list for some time now.

Discussions about including Nitro in the series have been ongoing for some time among supervisors, but they struggled to find compatible schedules due to his professional commitments last year.

At Christmas, he made quite an impact by dancing around in tight spandex, flaunting his muscular arms. The producers were equally captivated by his dance moves.

The popularity of the Gladiators is increasing, especially among children, which suggests that they will also appeal to younger audiences.

Earlier, Nitro had subtly suggested his involvement in the main series by disclosing that he would participate in the Christmas special, carrying an injury.

In his conversation with The Mirror, he expressed, “I have an injury to some extent, and it has been challenging. Currently, I’m not at my best. I hope they understand this situation.

However, I’m primarily here for a fun-filled experience. I love dancing and having a great time, and those moments of joy are what truly matter to me.

Even though I believe we’ll excel and enjoy the experience, I’d prefer to give my best performance by participating in the main series at a later time.

As a fervent devotee, I eagerly look forward to a time when I can fully express my capabilities. The passion within me has ignited, and if given the chance… well, that moment will be akin to stepping into an arena, ready to learn something fresh. If a chance presents itself, count on me to leap at it – quite literally, as by then I’ll have honed the skill to jump high!

 

Tom Parker-Bowles

It’s been suggested that both a notable figure from high society and a renowned MasterChef contestant, Tom Parker Bowles, could be participating on Strictly Come Dancing this year as well.

It’s reported that the oldest son of Queen Camilla, who is 50 years old, has already been contacted regarding the upcoming season, with decision-makers expressing a strong interest in having him join the team.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel exhilarated at the prospect of securing an individual with such a profound connection to the royal family. It’s almost tantalizing to imagine that perhaps Camilla and Charles themselves might grace our presence with their attendance!

 

Thomas Skinner

Bosses are said to have enlisted Apprentice alum Thomas Skinner with the intention of drawing in working-class males to the program.

The 34-year-old entrepreneur appeared on BBC’s Season 15 in 2019, making it to Week 9. However, Lord Sugar terminated his employment, despite the fact that he failed in every assignment he undertook during his tenure.

Famous for his robust Cockney accent and signature phrase “Bosh,” he gained significant popularity on social media and landed spots on programs including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Celebrity MasterChef.

As reported by The Mirror, Thomas has consented to participate on Strictly Come Dancing, following earlier statements that his mother would be thrilled to see him do so.

According to a source, Thomas lacks dance experience, but he’s eager to put his all into the competition.

The bosses are confident that he will attract fathers as viewers. He has an enormous fanbase, particularly among working-class men.

He’s a big enthusiast for football, and he loves pies with gravy. He’s not at all a fan of theater or drama. Given his passion, it’s likely that he’ll manage to include his catchphrase ‘Bosh’ on the program as well.

 

Georgia Toffolo

Georgia Toffolo is also said to be top of the wish list.

The star of Made In Chelsea, aged 30, had previously triumphed in the reality show I’m A Celebrity in 2017, and could potentially achieve the same feat on BBC’s dance competition. Reports suggest that she is under consideration for participation.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, discussions are ongoing about Georgia potentially joining the show. If she does, her elegance, charm, and zest for fun are expected to enrich the program.

4. “Her performances have left audiences captivated on all the shows she’s taken part in, hinting that she would receive much support as a contestant on Strictly.”

5. “She’s been a smash hit on every television appearance and could easily become a beloved competitor on Strictly Come Dancing.”

 

Ashley Cain

It was announced in April that Ashley Cain might be chosen for Strictly Come Dancing, as he had left a strong impression on BBC executives through his TV performances.

The reality TV personality from Ex On The Beach, aged 34, is rumored to be among the potential candidates being considered by the producers for the upcoming season of the program.

A confidant shared with The Mirror: “He possesses an authentic personality and an intriguing past, and he certainly fits the role.

Adding him to the Strictly cast would be fantastic. He’s proven himself on several programs, consistently leaving a positive impression.

As reported by the publication, an insider disclosed that potential candidates for the project are initially chosen from a pool of about 30 individuals. This group is then narrowed down to just 15 who will eventually participate.

TopMob contacted the BBC for comment.

 

Angellica Bell 

In December, Strictly fans believed they had figured out the celebrity who might be a reserve contestant for this year’s show, thanks to an unexpected twist.

Angellica Bell suggested her interest in participating, as she confessed to being an avid viewer and having watched every episode.

Fans believed Angellica, 48, was a reserve, but will be part of the main cast next year.

A year ago, The Sun confirmed that Angellica would be joining the cast, but it turned out she didn’t show up in the end. This happened towards the end of the day.

‘I do think it’s very possible she’s been the reserve before.’

While a second chimed in: ‘Definitely a backup squad somewhere – makes sense that she’s in it.’

Previously, Angellica was told by her acquaintances, including friends who’ve appeared on the show, that it is exceptionally good and she should definitely give it a try.

She stated that in her opinion, it’s necessary. She also mentioned that everyone’s experience might differ, but what she’s certain about is that if she were to engage, she would wonder ‘Alright, how much should I sway my hips?’

‘Watching people who haven’t danced before, improving makes me happy. It feels like that’s why dancing was created – to learn and grow. I enjoy discovering new skills and knowledge.’

In 2021, Rhys Stephenson, a former CBBC colleague of hers, participated in the show and ended up in fourth position, partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu.

Angellica gained widespread recognition as a host for CBBC, and her visibility expanded further following appearances on various programs such as The Martin Lewis Money Show, The One Show, and Celebrity MasterChef, where she emerged victorious in 2017.

In 2016, The Sun revealed that she was selected for Strictly Come Dancing, yet she ultimately didn’t participate due to speculation of a late change in the lineup.

She was also rumoured to be in the line-up for 2020, but this didn’t transpire either.

In that moment, Angellica shared with The Sun that she had a desire to continue and even mentioned her decent dancing skills. However, she expressed her uncertainty about proceeding if asked.

 

Sir Mo Farah 

Sporting icon Mo Farah is also rumoured to be appearing on this year’s Strictly. 

According to a source, his character could be just what’s needed to counteract the negativity that’s been dominating Strictly.

‘Bosses would love to sign him up but the talks are at a very early stage.’

Mo is a long-distance runner. 

Known as one of the best runners ever, his impressive collection of ten global championship gold medals (which includes four Olympic golds and six World titles) places him at the top as the most victorious male long-distance runner in the sport’s history. Moreover, he holds the title for being the most successful British track athlete when it comes to the modern Olympics.
