Zac Brown Band and Ludacris among performers at MLB All-Star pre-game show

Initially, All-Star games for various professional sports were primarily just about the game itself. However, compared to two decades ago, the grandeur and festivities surrounding these games today are significantly more elaborate. Although the game remains crucial, the ancillary events contribute equally to drawing spectators.

This upcoming Tuesday, July 15, the Major League Baseball All-Star game will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s going to be swelteringly hot and humid, as well as bustling with energy. Furthermore, Atlanta is eagerly displaying its rich musical heritage.

Prior to the game, Ludacris and Jermaine Dupri, iconic figures in Atlanta hip-hop scene, will introduce the players with a mix of songs that celebrate Atlanta. They’ll also be accompanied by the Clark Atlanta University Mighty Marching Panthers and Essence Dance Line as they perform “Welcome to Atlanta.

Music will be all around at the 2025 MLB All-Star game

1) Ludacris boasts a impressive record of 18 songs he’s either headlined or collaborated on that made it to the top 10 on the Billboard charts. On the other hand, Dupri, as founder of So So Def Records, has managed to place two of his songs in the same elite category.

Country music artist Kane Brown plans to perform the well-known song “Georgia on My Mind”, originally by Ray Charles. So if you happen to have a peculiar dislike for the state of Georgia, it might be best to tune into the MLB All-Star game only when the initial pitch is thrown.

It’s the Zac Brown Band, a renowned rock-country group hailing from Atlanta, who will be singing the U.S. national anthem. This band is likely familiar to you as they’ve released seven studio albums, with three of them reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Over the years, it’s become common for the Zac Brown Band to perform the national anthem at various sporting events. For instance, they sang it at the College Football National Championship game in 2013, the NFC Championship game of the same year, and the NHL Winter Classic in 2014. It’s interesting to note that these three performances were all more than a decade ago and occurred within just two years of each other.

It’s highly possible that Lauren Spencer Smith may experience a sense of unease, given she is a fellow Canadian, who will be singing the national anthem prior to the upcoming game. You might recognize her from TikTok.

The match is set to begin at 7 pm Eastern Time on July 15th. You can watch it on FOX, FOX Deportes for Spanish speakers, ESPN Radio nationwide, Rogers Sportsnet and TDA Sports in Canada. Alternatively, you can stream the game via MLB.com.
