Australian crime drama hailed as “one of the best cop shows” finds new UK streaming home

Australian crime drama Rush has found itself a new streaming home in the UK.

Starting in 2008, the series spotlights a Special Response Unit within the police force, handling various emergencies that occur in Melbourne.

Fans familiar with “Home and Away” and “The Traitors AU” may recognize Rodger Corser as Lawson Blake, one of the main characters. Callan Mulvey, who later became known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and “Batman v Superman,” portrays another lead character named Brendan Joshua.

The program has been recently made available on Amazon’s Prime Video, but there are a couple of conditions attached.

As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed that Seasons 1 and 2 have their own unique identity, distinct from Season 3. Unfortunately, as of now, Season 4 seems to be missing from the service. Yet, there are an impressive 57 episodes of Australian police action just waiting for me to dive in!

On IMDB, the show has an average score of 7.5 from over 2,000 user ratings.

As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but express my awe for this exceptional Australian series. In my opinion, it surpasses many other Aussie shows I’ve encountered, offering a depth and complexity that defies expectations. The technical finesse and creative ingenuity displayed are often superior to those of shows with similar budgets.

The characters in this show seem genuine and authentic. Although some concepts may not be entirely novel, they don’t appear contrived during viewing. In another opinion, instead of bombarding viewers with unnecessary action, the series Rush focuses more on developing its characters, giving each one a unique depth over time.

The review mentioned it as fun, however, they recommended the audience to set aside their doubts or skepticism while enjoying it.

Rush seasons 1-3 can be streamed on Prime Video now.

The latest edition of Digital Spy’s print issue, featuring Oasis – Live in ’25’, is available now! You can purchase it from newsstands or online for only £8.99.
