The Innovative Architecture of Goldwin 0’s Debut Performance Capsule

Goldwin 0, a forward-thinking design initiative from the Japanese brand, is venturing into uncharted waters with its newest release – the Performance Capsule for SS25. The team headed by Nur Abbas and Goldwin’s techlab utilized heatmapping technology to create a visually appealing yet practical design scheme.

The team carried out thorough examinations to pinpoint parts of the body that receive the most sun exposure and spots producing excessive sweat. Based on this information, they designed each piece of clothing accordingly.

At a distance, they appear ordinary, but upon closer inspection, the distinctive architecture of each piece is revealed through circular and flowing cutouts, as well as reflective surfaces that catch the light. Crafted in shades reminiscent of stone and quick-drying materials, these five pieces exude a subtle, futuristic atmosphere.

Drawing inspiration from Japan’s long-standing trail running culture, the Goldwin Star Trail Pack stands out as the star attraction of the collection, sporting 26 breathable vents and convenient front pockets for quick access. Compression shorts with breathability enhance the running-centric nature of this capsule, while waterproof ripstop shorts showcase a distinctive scalloped design. For tops, Goldwin offers both short-sleeved and long-sleeved shirts, each featuring an innovative circular ventilation system.

Established in 1954, Goldwin’s passion for cutting-edge design can be traced back to its extensive background in material research, as evident in modern collections such as the Goldwin Paper Fiber collection that skillfully blends an abaca-based fabric with KODENSHI finishes. The debut of the Performance Capsule further cements Goldwin’s reputation for innovation.
