Netflix’s Virgin River has received a big update, and set a new record in the process.
The popular comfort series will continue for another season, featuring a total of 10 episodes, as confirmed by Deadline.
That makes it the streaming service’s longest-running live-action scripted series.
The Spanish teen drama titled “É’lite” spans over eight seasons, however, it consists of merely 64 episodes in total, whereas “Virgin River” boasts 84 episodes.
Both shows, “Grace and Frankie” and “Orange is the New Black”, have a substantial number of episodes, with “Grace and Frankie” having 94 episodes and “Orange is the New Black” having 91. However, it’s important to note that these were spread over just seven seasons for both shows. Additionally, each episode of “Grace and Frankie” runs for half an hour compared to the full hour episodes in “Orange is the New Black”.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this refreshing update arrives on the heels of wrapping up season 7 filming. For an unprecedented first in our beloved show, production ventured beyond Vancouver’s borders, with the cast and crew embarking on a temporary journey southward to Mexico.
The specific launch date for the upcoming season hasn’t been announced as of now, but it’s anticipated to be available either around the holiday season this year or in the beginning of the next one.
Prior to the commencement of Season 7, actress Lauren Hammersley (who portrays Charmaine Roberts) expressed curiosity about her character’s dramatic season 6 finale twist, pondering if this could potentially mark the end of her character.
She told him that she contacted Patrick Sean Smith and asked, “Am I deceased? If so, it’s alright, but I merely want to confirm if I should begin submitting resumes for places like Wendy’s.
As a devoted admirer, if by some unfortunate twist of fate Charmaine should pass away this year, might I humbly suggest a most unconventional tribute? I find myself captivated by the idea of a solemn and symbolic ceremony, perhaps involving a gentle release in a nearby river. Truly, such an act would be a remarkable way to commemorate her life, if not exactly epic, then certainly unique.
Fans are left wondering if Charmaine made it through, but either way, there’s still a lot more exciting content ahead for the show.
