Don’t miss it! Wicked gets new UK streaming home ahead of For Good’s release

Wicked has landed a new streaming home in the UK.

Last year, spectators were given a glimpse into the first half of a two-part cinematic musical event, where they witnessed an account of the Wicked Witch of the West’s origin story, a character from the enduring Broadway play that shares the same name as the classic tale “The Wizard of Oz”.

The first part of “Wicked,” titled “Wicked: Part One,” was both a critical and financial triumph, garnering Oscar nominations for its main actors Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. This recognition has undeniably piqued interest for the upcoming second installment, “Wicked: For Good,” which is set to hit cinemas this November.

If you’re curious to find out what everyone is talking about or you’re already a dedicated fan eager for another viewing, UK residents have the opportunity to stream the initial film on both Sky Cinema and NOW TV, provided they already have a subscription with either service.

If you don’t have a subscription, that’s alright! You can still watch “Wicked” right now by renting or purchasing it on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and several other digital retailers available in the UK.

As a gamer, I’m super excited to share that alongside Erivo and Grande, this first movie also features Jonathan Bailey from Bridgerton and Jurassic World Rebirth as my romantic interest, Fiyero. Plus, Michelle Yeoh will be playing Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum is stepping into the magical world of Oz!

In the upcoming production of “Wicked: For Good“, all original cast members will be back. Notably, the title of the second film will reflect one of the most renowned songs from the musical’s second act – the duet between Elphaba and Glinda, aptly named “For Good”.

As excitement mounts for the next part, Grande once mentioned the musical’s name, revealing that “[For Good]” was written on our initial scripts, the physical copies we initially received.

From the beginning, we’ve been brainstorming various concepts, but the chosen title was always part of the script. I’m relieved it’s officially decided now since we’ve become quite fond of it. It fits so well because this project has truly left a lasting impact on us.

Wicked: For Good is released in cinemas on 21 November.

The latest print edition from Digital Spy, featuring “Oasis – Live in ’25”, is available now! You can purchase it at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
