Helen Flanagan opens up about incident on Tube where man launched foul-mouthed tirade at her over having ‘so much Botox’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to share a personal experience I had recently on the London Underground. A gentleman unleashed a string of inappropriate comments towards me, an incident that left me taken aback. It’s important to remember that everyone deserves respect and kindness, especially in public spaces.

This week, the former Coronation Street actor, aged 34, visited London for a night out with friends. However, she shared on Instagram that someone seemingly spoiled the fun for her.

Helen openly acknowledged that she was grappling with feelings of mom guilt, since her kids Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie remained at home while she relished a short getaway in the bustling metropolis.

But her time away was seemingly ruined by an incident on public transport. 

In her narrative, Helen started off by saying: “I was on the subway and there was a man seated diagonally opposite me. There was another young woman sitting directly across from me.

‘And I noticed that the man took a picture of this woman on the Tube.’

She continued: ‘Anyway, I probably – it’s a bit embarrassing for me to say this. 

Initially, I wished I had spoken up, but I must admit, his presence made me feel rather timid. Consequently, it seemed as though words failed me.

Here’s my attempt: As a fellow bystander, I must confess, there was a woman nearby who displayed remarkable courage. She approached the individual next to me and inquired, “Pardon me, did you happen to snap a photo of that woman? I noticed you doing so as well.

Additionally, he chose to disregard her and feign deafness as if she wasn’t there. Over time, his behavior became increasingly hostile, using harsh language such as telling her to ‘go away’ and ‘be quiet’, which was truly appalling. Oh my goodness, it was dreadful!

Helen said she then had to intervene as she is a ‘girl’s girl’.

Well, it seems clear that I stand firmly on the side of women, as I assertively stated, “Stop talking to her in such an inappropriate manner. I witnessed you taking her photo without permission, and your lies are unacceptable.

But she wasn’t prepared for what came next, adding it was ‘really awful’.   

She continued: “He was truly unpleasant, and I found myself feeling quite nervous around him, almost to the point where I hesitated to speak much with him due to my fear.

In a casual setting,

“He made an unusual comment to me: ‘You seem to have a lot of Botox in your forehead,’ he said. At the time, I was sipping on an iced coffee, and he added, ‘I’m amazed you can even drink through a straw.’

As a champion of balanced living, I chuckled slightly while expressing, “Admit it or not, I’m quite a peacekeeper. I seldom engage in disputes with others. Today, however, I found myself standing up for another woman because that’s simply who I am – a staunch advocate for women everywhere.

I was at a loss for words, but honestly, he earned it – he wasn’t particularly handsome.

‘I couldn’t say anything to him, so I said, “I feel sorry for you”.

‘It’s not nice as a woman where you actually feel intimidated he was just an absolute idiot.’

As a devoted mother of three, I couldn’t help but share a past encounter that left me feeling uneasy while commuting in public.

Shortly following her son Charlie’s birth, she expressed feeling as though a man was secretly recording her while she breastfed him on the train.

Helen didn’t tell anyone about an incident that occurred on the Tube earlier this week because there were no witnesses present. However, feeling compelled to share her account of events, she has now decided to talk about it publicly.

After Helen vented about her revoked driver’s license and various parenting troubles in a disorganized social media update, five months had passed since her ban due to speeding.

The former Coronation Street actress, who testified in court in January that her ex-footballer boyfriend Robbie Talbot was behind the wheel of their £66,000 Audi Q7 when it was caught speeding twice, expressed frustration about not having a car and the difficulties she faced, such as being unable to run errands or purchase necessary items due to living in a remote location. She described the situation as incredibly inconvenient.

Despite arguing that her financial struggles wouldn’t allow her to use taxis for getting her kids to school, the road ban was still imposed on Helen for a period of six months.

On her Instagram Stories, she openly discussed how her Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) led to a confusion in her paperwork when reapplying for her license, which unfortunately prolongs the process even more.

It’s extremely inconvenient to be without my driver’s license right now as I live in a remote area and don’t have another means of transportation.” The revised sentence maintains the original meaning while using more polite language.

As a die-hard enthusiast, let me express my frustration: It’s been downright inconvenient. For instance, we’ve run out of toilet paper, and since I can’t dash off to the store myself due to circumstances, my friend graciously agreed to bring some over.

In addition, she disclosed that she and her former partner, Scott Sinclair, have resumed cohabiting as coparents under one roof, even after their difficult separation. They share three children together: Matlida who is nine years old, Delilah who is six, and Charlie who is three.

Helen, originally the owner of a £1.5M family home, is now selling it due to circumstances. She separated from her footballer partner, who is 36 years old, in 2022 after 13 years together. Recently, prior to Father’s Day, she made a critical comment about him.

She mentioned that both Matilda and Delilah have their birthdays on the same date, which creates quite a busy period since there are seven days separating their birthdays.

Scott is away playing football, but since he’s not here, we’re temporarily sharing the same household as part of our co-parenting arrangement.

Inhaling deeply, she carried on saying, “It turned out fine, which suggests we should definitely organize something for their birthday celebrations.
