What’s her secret? Ugly Betty star Rebecca Romijn looks half her age
Actress Rebecca Romijn, best known from “Ugly Betty,” appeared noticeably youthful during a gathering for her current television production in Toronto this week, appearing nearly half her actual age.
The actress, aged 52, who is recognized from her appearances in significant films such as X-Men, Femme Fatale, and The Punisher, has been featured in Strange New Worlds, a Star Trek spin-off, since the year 2022.
Romijn showed off her smooth, unwrinkled skin as she struck a pose on the red carpet during the season three premiere of the Paramount+ show on Thursday evening.
Her young-looking image has been widely shared online in the past few months, attracting admiration from fans who appreciate her elegant maturity throughout her more than three-decade long career.
On the debut for Thursday, Romijn accentuated her inherent charm with a radiant complexion and delicate, feminine eyeliner.
She embraced her natural blonde curls for the starry evening held at Shangri-La Toronto.

Regarding her attire, Romijn confidently displayed her sun-kissed and sculpted legs in a set of vibrant white shorts. She paired these with shoes that matched a soft blush shade of suede.
She also rocked a see-through, pink blouse with elegant bell sleeves.
Strange New Worlds.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must share my excitement about a captivating series that made its debut in 2022 on Paramount+. Notably, this show is a spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery, and it features the return of the charismatic character played by Katee Sackhoff, whom you may remember from her role in 2019.
In the very same year, I had the privilege of stepping back into my role once more for an independent tale within the Star Trek universe, titled Star Trek: Short Treks.
In the realm of science fiction, Romijn is not a newcomer; she gained prominence by playing Mystique in the X-Men movie series during the 2000s.
Romijn made her initial debut in Hollywood by appearing in the renowned New Kids on the Block music video titled “Please Don’t Go Girl” way back in 1988 when she was only 16 years of age.
She then went on to become a very successful model.

In both 1996 and 2006, Romijn graced the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue. Additionally, she has secured covers for prestigious publications such as Elle, GQ, and Marie Claire.
She didn’t make her TV and movie debut until the late 1990s, having secured a part on the NBC sitcom “Friends” in 1997.
She also made cameos on other hit comedy shows of the era like Just Shoot Me! and Jack & Jill.
Back in 2008, I was utterly captivated when the brilliant and radiant Jennifer Romijn stepped into the shoes of Alexis Meade, a groundbreaking transgender character, on the wildly popular ABC sitcom, Ugly Betty. It was an unforgettable three-season run that left me absolutely spellbound!
She appeared in 33 episodes alongside series stars America Ferrera, Michael Urie and Michael Urie.
In the year following, Romijn made her debut on the big screen with her appearance in the comedy “Dirty Work” (1998), directed by Bob Saget. This film also starred SNL’s Norm MacDonald, along with other well-known comedians such as Chevy Chase and Don Rickles.
However, it was her roles in X-Men (2000) and Femme Fatale (2002) that cemented her star status.
Romijn has been a dedicated performer across multiple platforms, including films, television shows, and video game voiceovers, for the past 35 years.
In the throes of fandom, I couldn’t help but be captivated when Rebecca Romijn’s timeless beauty swept across TikTok in February. The viral sensation, a video titled “Rebecca Romijn Evolution (1997-2024),” left me breathless and in awe of her seemingly unchanging grace.

The video displayed pictures of the actress or model, spanning different periods of her life, as well as images from some of her most memorable performances.
Fans were left in awe of how Romijn has aged, with one writing: ‘I hope I age this gracefully.’
Many people often say that the woman from California, who gained fame during the late 90s and early 2000s, had a strong hold on those periods.
A different TikTok user playfully commented: ‘She doesn’t seem to be getting older. I wonder if she’s secretly involved in some enchantment – such a divine being!’
Romijn’s remarkably youthful appearance, with hardly any signs of aging, might be due to good genes, since she has consistently denied having plastic surgery or using anti-wrinkle treatments such as Botox.
In 2019, she shared with PEOPLE that unlike numerous other famous women, she doesn’t harbor a significant dread about growing older.
In my perspective, as a connoisseur of life’s finer points, I’ve always found my mother exceptionally beautiful, despite the wrinkles that graced her visage over the years. It was her laugh lines, those charming grooves etched by joy and laughter, that held a special allure for me.
‘I find peace in that and hope that when my daughters look at me, they do too.’
In the same year, Romijn expressed acceptance about her appearance on the now-defunct daytime talk show The Talk, which aired on CBS.
In simpler terms, she shared her perspective that life is like playing a game where acceptance becomes increasingly important as we grow older. This includes accepting our physical appearances to a certain degree as part of the natural process of maturing.

Instead, Romijn maintains a fit and youthful appearance through regular dieting and workout routines.
During an appearance on “The Talk” in 2023 alongside her husband Jerry O’Connell, she casually disclosed their unique approach to dieting, which they affectionately refer to as the ‘crop top diet.’
In our home, we follow a diet that we call the “crop top diet.” This means reducing or eliminating certain foods from your diet to achieve a body shape suitable for wearing a cropped top, as Romijn described.
In my case, I tend to overdo something similar to your red wine consumption. For the next few weeks, I plan to abstain from that habit.
In the year 2018, I was captivated by the actress’s fitness secrets as she revealed her workout regimen in an interview with ChatElaine. She mentioned that she enjoys engaging in a 90-minute Bikram yoga session or taking a dip in the pool for a calorie-burning workout.
After the arrival of their twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly (who are now 16), she has started practicing Bikram yoga.
In 2012, she shared with Fitness magazine that she lost excess pregnancy weight by eliminating sugar, dairy, red meat, alcohol, and starches from her diet.
She has also cited her husband as her inspiration from staying fit and healthy.
The couple wed back in 2007 following Romijn’s divorce from Full House hunk John Stamos.
She and the 61-year-old actor were married from 1998 to 2005.
In 2004, I found myself starting a new romantic journey with my second spouse, O’Connell. Interestingly enough, this was also the year I initiated the divorce proceedings with Stamos. Six months after our divorce was finalized, we decided to take our relationship to the next level by getting engaged.
Due to Stamos labeling her as ‘the devil’ during a publicity tour for his candid memoir titled “If You Had Told Me,” Romijn was compelled to address the painful separation that took place the previous year.
As a die-hard fan, I found myself utterly flabbergasted and genuinely taken aback by the whole spectacle. It caught me off guard like nothing else ever has before.
‘To be honest, I’m not eager to assist him in marketing his books with those titles. That’s essentially my point.’

In his 352-page autobiography, Stamos narrated the final encounter he had with Rebecca, which took place amidst a heated divorce mediation led by their respective lawyers.
‘I don’t think she needs to do anything else for me except apologize. I suppose I should apologize to her as well. However, neither of us speak about it.’
‘I go up to her and embrace her tightly. Tears flow from both of us. Earlier, we had agreed to spend some quality time after today, but it didn’t happen. This moment marks the last time I will ever see her. Our paths won’t cross again, not at gatherings or events. This is our goodbye.’
While on the book promotional tour, Stamos expressed that his five-year union with Romijn left him feeling ‘devastatingly broken,’ and he endured this heartache for far too long.
Speaking with People last October, I shared that a single year was acceptable, but what followed were numerous years instead.
At that time, she seemed like the embodiment of evil to me, and I harbored intense hatred towards her. The extent of my disdain was unbelievable, and it had a profoundly negative impact on my life.
Stamos went on to say: ‘It seemed like everyone believed she broke up with me because her career was thriving while mine wasn’t, which is embarrassing. I don’t hold it against her. It was more about the impression people got, and perhaps they weren’t off base. At that time, she was really succeeding and I wasn’t.’
