Inside Delta Goodrem and Matthew Copley’s stunning 18th century ‘fairytale’ wedding venue dubbed a ‘miniature Versailles’

Delta Goodrem undoubtedly went above and beyond as she made her way up the aisle with Matthew Copley during their wedding in Malta last month.

Following their wedding vows at the ancient St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina, the newly-married couple relocated the celebrations to the picturesque Palazzo Parisio located in the neighboring town of Naxxar.

Once called Scicluna Palace and Palazzo Scicluna, this breathtaking location originally served as a hunting lodge, dating back to 1733.

In 1898, the lavish 18th-century palace was bought by affluent Maltese banker Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna. He then undertook a complete renovation, restoring the palace to its grandeur and opulence.

As you pass through the grand, ornately bronzed doors, the immense size of the building becomes apparent, with its soaring, arched ceilings and expansive, marbled staircase stretching out before you.

It’s often referred to as a smaller replica or likeness of the famous Château de Versailles, which was constructed under the rule of King Louis XIV in France.

It’s quite evident why, given that it boasts a rich interior adorned with various frescoes, statues, pillars, and artistic pieces.

This grand palace features a stunning ballroom designed in the Rococo style, adorned with gold accents. It is illuminated by magnificent bronze chandeliers and boasts intricately framed mirrors, paying tribute to the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

As you move from one room to another within this grand palace, each space surpasses the previous one in terms of grandeur. The palace houses a lavish billiard room, a dining area intricately designed with a Pompeii theme, and a family chapel showcasing an ancient 17th-century wooden altar.

In addition, there’s a spacious music room connected to the grand ballroom, boasting walls embellished with delicate silk moiré patterns.

The beautifully designed Italian-style enclosed gardens are equally impressive, filled with well-groomed bushes and hedges everywhere you look.

winding stone paths meander gracefully across the beautiful estate, connecting to a nearby greenhouse and grove.

Delta shared a first look at her lavish wedding with Vogue Australia this week.

In June of 2025, Delta posted an emotional message on Instagram, saying that their wedding day had been even more enchanting than they had ever dared to imagine, together as husband and wife.

She went on, saying that we exchanged our vows beneath the clear blue Maltese sky, as if a magical family storybook wedding was unfolding all around us, with countless helpers making it happen.

We’re cherishing each memory from that special time, the affection, the joyful giggles, the emotional moments, and the dance that lasted until the dawn broke.

Delta dazzled in a captivating off-the-shoulder wedding dress featuring a bold, alluring sweetheart neckline, crafted by the talented South Australian fashion designer, Paul Vasileff.

The French tulle gown featured gorgeous lattice detailing and a two-and-a-half metre train.

Delta collaborated with the designer for approximately three months to design a dress that was deeply personal and exceptionally unique.

In her conversation with Vogue, Delta shared that Paul and she felt a strong connection as soon as our engagement took place, and we began collaborating on the project right away.

The dress, crafted over approximately 500 hours, incorporated elements symbolizing the couple’s love story, such as their wedding date, a duo of swans, and cherubs subtly woven into the material.

At the 2016 Logie Awards, Vasileff was also responsible for styling Delta. He considered collaborating with her an exceptional opportunity, a dream partnership.

In the 800-year-old St. Paul’s Cathedral of Mdina, dating back to the 12th century, Delta and Matthew made their marriage vows.

During the party, she switched to two more outfits to ensure her comfort for an evening of dancing as Conrad Sewell and Vince Pizzinga entertained the high-profile attendees.

The singer’s two outfits, crafted by the Melbourne couturier Con Ilio, featured a dazzling party dress adorned with hand-sewn pearls and crystals among them.

The unique, tailor-made gold and diamond wedding rings for Delta and Matthew were crafted by the skilled hand of Melbourne jeweler, Anton Jewellery.

In her conversation with Vogue, the singer expressed that it was crucial for her to feel authentic on the day of the event. She emphasized that even amidst the enchanting atmosphere, the appearance should exude a sense of earthiness and stability.

Noni Smith applied Delta’s makeup, Michael Brennan took care of her hairstyle, and Meggy Smith was the stylist for the day.

Meanwhile, her partner was resplendent in head-to-toe Tom Ford attire, as she shared with Vogue. She mentioned that she didn’t encounter Matt the evening prior to their vows, enhancing the enchantment of the moment.

The first time I saw Matt down the aisle was truly unforgettable because we followed the custom of not meeting each other on the eve prior,” she shared with the magazine.

Each instant felt like a magical fairy tale unfolding. Spending the entire day and the following week together surpassed anything we had ever imagined.
