Rylan Clark snagged an unanticipated acting gig, as he’s now slated to make his debut in a significant movie production.
Known for his work on “Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two” and “This Morning,” Rylan is set to venture into the realm of Hollywood, having secured a voice role in the British adaptation of the forthcoming animated movie, “The Smurfs.
The presenter expressed great enthusiasm on Instagram about playing the character VANITY Smurf in the upcoming Smurfs Movie, which releases on July 18th in the UK. He even humorously questioned his role with a playful, “What is my job?”, along with a fun behind-the-scenes video. 💅X
The official page for the movie declared that Rylan Smurf and Vanity Smurf make an unforgettable Smurf pairing! Another fan chimed in, expressing excitement about seeing the new movie after enjoying the last Smurfs film.
In the movie, it’s not just Rylan who’s well-known from British TV; you’ll also recognize Jon Richardson as Grouchy Smurf and Giovanna Fletcher as Worry Smurf.
In the U.S. edition of the animated movie, you’ll hear Maya Erskine, Chris Miller, and Billie Lourd lending their voices to the characters Vanity, Grouchy, and Worry. However, these three talented actors will only be featured in the UK release of the animation.
In this new iteration of the beloved series, skillfully directed by Miller and scripted by Pam Brady, the story revolves around Smurfette, played by Rihanna, who guides a group of her small, blue-hued comrades. Their quest? To find Papa Smurf, portrayed by John Goodman.
As Rylan prepares to step into the enchanted realm of the Smurfs, you’ll catch him once more on your television screens, teamed up with Rob Rinder for the second season of Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour. This time, they’re planning an adventure through India.
Smurfs is released in cinemas on 18 July.
