Hyped-up and messy London-set romance series with “astonishing cast of stars” is now on Netflix
Lena Dunham’s new London-set romance series is now available to stream on Netflix UK.
The highly anticipated creation of the “Girls” producer has been released today (July 10), on the streaming platform, titled “Too Much.” In this production, a young woman from New York City decides to move to London in search of a fresh start following a turbulent separation.
In a new role, Megan Stalter from Hacks stars as the lead character Jess. She encounters indie musician Felix, played by Will Sharpe from The White Lotus, and there’s an immediate romantic attraction between them.

Setting aside the subject matter, “The Guardian” highly commended the “extraordinary ensemble of actors” in an initial critique. Additionally, “Too Much” features acting talents such as Richard E Grant, Naomi Watts, Andrew Scott, Rhea Perlman, Stephen Fry, Jennifer Saunders, Kit Harrington and Rita Wilson.
Previously known for his role in “Girls,” actor Andrew Rannells appears in the series alongside Lena Dunham, portraying the former spouse of Nora, a character Dunham plays who is the sister to Jess.
The film “Too Much” draws inspiration from the actual romantic relationship between its creator, Judy Greer, and her London-based husband, co-creator and musician Luis Felber, whom she met following her relocation from another continent.
As a passionate gamer diving into the world of virtual storytelling, I’ve found that the series, while initially appearing to be a lighthearted romcom, is actually much more profound than it seems at first glance. According to The Guardian, this 10-episode journey transcends the common tropes typically associated with the genre, offering a richer and deeper experience for viewers like myself.
As a passionate gamer, I adore “Love Actually” and “Notting Hill”, and every episode comes with a romantic punchline for a title. But unlike the sweet, idealized romances you might find in movies, this series delivers a raw, complex take on love that’s more about the real-life struggles than any fairy tale fantasy.
During an interview with Variety prior to its premiere, Dunham expressed optimism about a potential second season, however, no decisions have been made publically at this time.
In the finale, she made sure to wrap things up neatly, as we never know how things might turn out in the world of television.
Too Much is available to stream now on Netflix.
