Loose Women ready to AXE celebrity guests after ITV shake-up amid growing fears the show could be cancelled within a year
It’s anticipated that the popular daytime talk show, Loose Women, may stop inviting celebrity guests due to increasing concerns that the show might be discontinued within the next year on ITV.
For many seasons, this popular show often invites a variety of famous guests to join the discussion, where they can talk about their upcoming endeavors and share insights. Notable figures such as Naomi Campbell, Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, and even former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have graced its stage.
However, as suggested by inside sources, when ITV’s budget reductions take place in January, the show Loose Women may cease inviting A-list celebrities to the studio. Instead, the program is intended to focus on the panel discussing topical news items from the previous week.
Currently, there are reports suggesting that the popular show Loose Women might get permanently taken off the air within the next year due to a potential decline in viewership. This could happen if the quality of the show starts to decrease.
Following the announcement by TopMob that they’ve scrapped the studio audience, a crucial element for the show, has stirred dissatisfaction amongst some veteran cast members like Nadia Sawalha, Ruth Langsford, and Coleen Nolan.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share some recent updates from the world of television: In the spirit of streamlining their operations, ITV has decided to reduce the airtime for popular shows such as Lorraine and Loose Women, limiting them to 30 weeks instead of the usual 52. This adjustment will unfortunately affect more than 220 of the 440 dedicated staff members involved with these programs, who may find themselves out of work during the off-season.

A TV source revealed: ‘Not having guests is a big blow for both the presenters and viewers at home.
It seems unusual to eliminate all guests from the show, as they’re usually a key element that audiences enjoy. Now, it appears that the emphasis will shift towards guests for shows such as Lorraine and This Morning instead.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel their frustration backstage. They truly cherish having guests on their show, as it allows them to provide unique interviews that set them apart from other daytime programs. Their passion for this format is palpable.
Initially, there are four individuals leading the discussion, and what sets them apart is their focus on addressing women-related topics, a subject matter that isn’t frequently tackled in shows such as This Morning.
Over the past few years, popular talk show Loose Women has hosted esteemed personalities such as Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, and had exclusive one-on-one conversations with Janet Jackson and Naomi Campbell. These renowned figures opted to engage in these discussions due to their affection for the program.
‘Unfortunately, by January, the program will transform into a mere shadow of its past glory, eventually leading to its cancellation.’
TopMob realizes that Loose Women has decided to stop inviting celebrity guests due to a lack of staff available to handle both the guests and the show, preferring instead to focus on Lorraine and This Morning. Consequently, it appears that Loose Women may need to forego having celebrity panelists.
A representative from ITV stated: “The Loose Women crew continues developing both the show and its material for the upcoming year.

After ITV declared significant reductions in their daytime programming, changes include shortening Lorraine to 30 minutes and airing it exclusively during school terms, as well as reducing Loose Women’s episodes to 30 weeks annually.
According to the plans, the production of Good Morning Britain will be taken care of by a specialized team within ITV News, a company that also has contracts to create news content for Channel 4 and Channel 5.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I’m excited to share that ITV Studios will carry on creating beloved shows like Lorraine, Loose Women, and This Morning. However, they are currently pondering a strategic shift aimed at consolidating the three teams into one unified unit. Notably, This Morning will take precedence when it comes to securing celebrity appearances, ensuring an even more star-studded lineup for fans to enjoy.
Nadia, one of the panelists on Loose Women, voiced her disappointment about the decision to cancel the live audience for the show. This move unfortunately means that Nadia’s good friend and fellow worker, Lee Peart, who is a warm-up artist, will now be out of work as a result.
She expressed deep sadness about this situation, as she hasn’t been able to cope with it since it happened. The reason being that both the audience and her close colleague, Lee, play crucial roles in her daily work and the success of the show.

Nadia expressed her emotions regarding the severe reductions in Loose Women, stating that the news in May was particularly challenging for the team.
She noted that this show has been incredibly successful for the past 25 years, and it continues to be so today. It truly stands as a distinct brand.
As a passionate devotee, allow me to express a personal insight: The ruthless nature of the world often escapes many – it’s a fact seldom recognized that we freelancers live on the edge, with each contract marking a new beginning. Tomorrow, or even in five years, I could find myself without work, for we are not employees bound by company loyalty, but independent entities treading the precarious path of self-employment.
Over the past week, something incredibly tough has unfolded, and it’s left me feeling quite emotional. Unfortunately, without warning, hundreds of employees who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support us will be let go.
Inflation is skyrocketing these days, which means tough choices need to be made. Many of my friends and co-workers on this show and at ITV have been here for many years, so it was heartbreaking to see them wandering around in a state of shock and fear about their uncertain future.
