Pete Wicks reveals the secret to his six-year friendship with Sam Thompson as he insists they’ve NEVER had a row

Their friendship is considered quite unexpected in the world of entertainment, as it began when they crossed paths while seeking romantic partners on Celebs Go Dating.

Pete Wicks shares an open secret about his friendship with Sam Thompson, stating that they’ve never had a disagreement or argument between them.

The renowned contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, aged 37, expressed to TopMob that their complementary strengths and vulnerabilities have formed a harmonious bond. They’ve developed an unwavering trust in one another.

Ever since they first met in 2019, Pete and Sam (aged 32) have collaborated on numerous shows together. Following the debut of their podcast titled “Staying Relevant” in 2022, they are now preparing to present a live version of the show at London’s O2 Arena this coming September.

Pete’s conversation with TopMob took place when he teamed up with Lynx for the debut of their latest Lower Body Spray. Moreover, he mentioned that he plans to persuade Sam to incorporate this item into his upcoming ‘enhancement regimen.’

Contemplating our friendship, he remarked, “Our abilities seem to complement each other perfectly – what I excel at, he struggles with, and the reverse is true. It’s quite fascinating how well we balance out.

It feels somewhat predictable, yet oddly fitting, as if I were discussing my spouse. He seems to complete the puzzle in an unexpected way – he might find this endearing too. However, our connection is unusually complex.

For as long as we’ve been friends, we’ve never had disagreements, we chat daily and share much of our time, yet things seem to run smoothly. I believe this harmony stems largely from the deep trust we have in each other.

Apart from mentioning this himself, Pete revealed that Sam had initially proposed the idea of bringing their Staying Relevant Live Show to the prestigious O2 Arena in London. He added that it was a promise Sam made during their tour last year on stage that eventually led to the show being organized.

He mentioned that usually, Sam generates numerous creative suggestions, which he initially turns down. However, more often than not, they end up doing those ideas anyway.

Essentially, it seems our narrative often follows a pattern where I initially refuse, but eventually find myself yielding, as if being gently manipulated by him.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I can’t help but express my excitement as we embark on this monumental journey. With our very own production company now under our belt, we find ourselves shouldering a multitude of responsibilities. The task at hand – organizing a show at the iconic O2 Arena – is no small feat, and it’s a challenge neither of us has encountered before in our careers. The sheer magnitude of this endeavor leaves me both awestruck and eager to contribute in any way I can towards its successful execution.

Last year, we embarked on a tour that sold out numerous shows, however, they were held in more modest venues. This time around, it’s an entirely new level of competition.

The idea originated from Sam, as he had unexpectedly announced at the Apollo last year that we would perform at The O2 before we’d even discussed it. He seemed serious when he said it, but I assumed he was joking. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that it was indeed possible and I surprised him by booking it.

During the debut of Lynx’s novel Lower Body Spray, Pete, along with Chloe Burrows and Joe Weller, presented a colossal boxer-shaped ball pit filled with fragrance at Boxpark Shoreditch. They encouraged the public to declare their allegiance, choosing between ‘team spray’ or ‘team no-thanks’.

A previous star of TOWIE expressed to TopMob that there remains a certain stigma, or social disapproval, about men taking care of their own well-being.

He commented: ‘Initiating this discussion can be challenging, perhaps due to lingering stigmas attached to the topic. However, it truly ought not to be.’

In modern times, it’s common for men to take care of their skin, hair, and other aspects, and I believe this is merely a progression. Many people appreciate the sensation of smelling nice, and personally, I enjoy it too.

However, an often overlooked aspect seems to be the importance of maintaining freshness in THAT region, which I believe is equally crucial, and interestingly, it appears that nearly all men (98%) concur with this perspective based on a survey.

Many individuals seem to be utilizing items not originally intended for that particular location, primarily due to a lack of alternatives currently available in the market that cater to that specific purpose.

That’s why I find it great, as it provides coverage for scenting every part of your body, including those less talked-about areas. I remember reading somewhere that some people use apple cider vinegar for this purpose!

Pete explained that there are two key reasons why it’s crucial for men to be mindful of their bodies. Firstly, many people might associate this with considering others’ comfort. However, on a more personal level, he enjoys maintaining a pleasant scent.

‘A pleasant scent can boost one’s mood. While finding ways to look good might still be a work in progress for me, at least I can ensure I smell good. I believe it’s crucial to prioritize personal care and invest time in activities that were less common in past generations, as taking care of oneself is essential for self-worth.’

Nowadays, many men are embracing self-care routines beyond the basics, including moisturizing and other personal grooming tasks. This new habit adds another layer to their daily routines. Therefore, whatever additional care product or practice you’re suggesting should be something that fits seamlessly into these established routines.

Sam stirred up excitement among his followers when he showcased his transformation following his breakup with Zara McDermott. Meanwhile, Pete hinted at recommending Sam to incorporate Lynx’s latest product line into his evening rituals.

He mentioned: “Sam will surely adore it; he seems to be undergoing a transformation that suits him perfectly. He’s taking excellent care of himself right now. Plus, he carries an attractive scent about him too.

He looks fantastic! I think I’ll suggest he incorporates this into his daily schedule. It turns out he already has a nighttime routine, Sam! I just found out about it the other day.
