The TV series “Call the Midwife,” which is set to air its 15th season, has clarified a major misunderstanding regarding its BBC program.
Looking forward to resuming after the holiday season with a two-episode Christmas spectacle, it’s expected that season 15 will air not long after these special episodes, beginning in January 2026.
On Instagram, they posted a backstage snapshot from the upcoming season, featuring Judy Parfitt (Sister Monica Joan) interacting with a few kids and cradling an infant.
In a heartfelt message, the program emphasized that it honors the importance of life at every stage, noting that the range of ages depicted on-screen mirrors the diverse viewership it attracts.
The series, “Call the Midwife”, pointed out a common misunderstanding among those unfamiliar with the show – many assume that it is exclusively enjoyed by the elderly due to its portrayal of a past era.
In contrast to this idea, the cherished series countered: “However, the facts paint a different picture. The captivating show Call the Midwife is enjoyed by an extensive range of ages – from young adults to the most senior citizens. No particular age group holds majority control. Our own viewership statistics confirm this.
In the following discussion, they pointed out that the play being viewed appeals to such a wide range of people that almost everyone can find some aspect of themselves reflected within it.
They stated: “This is a program designed for the whole family, as families represent small versions of our broader communities. The concept of ‘community’ resonates with everyone, regardless of age, health status, wealth, or beliefs.

People are seeking representations that align with the kindness they want to find in their surroundings. They strive for an ideal where everyone’s spirit is uplifted equally.
The BBC has dispelled speculation about canceling “Call the Midwife” after 15 seasons, confirming that the series will continue as a key part of their programming in the future.
Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
