Nadia Bartel new details about split with ex-husband and AFL star Jimmy in emotional interview: ‘I was in a bad place’
Nadia Bartel shared about the most challenging ordeal she underwent after her heart-wrenching separation from Jimmy, the AFL star.
An Australian model, aged 40, spoke candidly about the reasons behind her divorce from her spouse of five years (which occurred in 2019) to her close friends Bec Judd and Jess Roberts during a recent episode of their podcast, “Vain-ish.
In conversation with the podcast hosts, the Henne founder expressed that she resorted to meditation and breathwork as a means to find balance and composure following her divorce, as she was struggling immensely.
‘I got into that after the split from my marriage,’ she told the pair.
In relation to her breathwork journey, Nadia mentioned that the advice originated from a friend who recognized she was facing difficulties.

She turned to Jess and Bec, saying: ‘I was in a bad place, as you guys knew.’
Nadia’s buddy shared that her sibling had undergone a separation not long ago and found solace in breathing exercises as a therapeutic method.
Nadia expressed that when faced with a challenging situation, she’s ready to take on any task.
Even though Nadia admitted that she might not have attempted it if she had searched for information online first, she still found the experience to be ‘remarkable’.
She mentioned that for the past three hours, she had an incredibly deep and focused encounter. Moreover, the instructor guided her on finding a meditative state by using controlled breathing techniques.
In my experience, it’s often challenging to execute tasks when your mind is buzzing with profound thoughts. It’s like trying to dance while juggling complex ideas in your head!

‘It was like an out-of-body’ experience.’
In 2019, after five years of being married, the once high-profile couple in the Australian Football League (AFL), Nadia and Jimmy, decided to part ways.
The couple married back in 2014 and share two sons, Henley and Aston.
Nadia said at the time: ‘It’s been a very difficult month for me and the boys.’
My primary concern at the moment revolves around nurturing, safeguarding, and supporting my two magnificent sons, as this is a deeply personal issue. I’m incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from my loving family and friends.
On April 4, 2023, Jimmy, known for his time with the Geelong Football Club, became a father to a baby girl with his current partner, Amelia Shepperd.
Nadia and ex-footballer Peter Dugmore made their relationship known at the 2024 Australian Open tennis tournament, and they’ve been thriving ever since.
