Aaron Taylor-Johnson cuts a low-key figure as he attends premiere of Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs after being tipped as new favourite to play James Bond
Although Aaron Taylor-Johnson could potentially be the next James Bond, his appearance on Tuesday seemed far from that of 007 as he stepped out.
35-year-old actor kept a modest profile during his appearance at the debut of the innovative immersive production, “Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs,” co-produced by King’s Cross and Apple TV+, where the movie “Lightroom” was also showcased.
Clad in a thick, dark-brown beard, Aaron’s appearance starkly contrasted the clean-shaven image that the character of Bond is traditionally associated with. This difference has stirred intense debate about potential candidates to fill the prestigious role.
At the debut of Lightroom’s fresh, family-oriented encounter, the main star was accompanied by well-known figures like Billie Piper, Damian Lewis, and Kate Garraway.
As a lifestyle expert, I had the privilege of leading an extraordinary adventure, stepping 66 million years back in time. Through the innovative use of Lightroom’s state-of-the-art projection tech, we brought life-size dinosaurs to vibrant reality, offering guests a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Adding to the immersive experience were never-before-seen illustrations that painted the prehistoric landscape, and an epic symphony by Hans Zimmer that echoed through the ages. This journey was more than just a tour; it was a chance to witness history in motion, to walk alongside giants, and be captivated by the wonders of our world’s past.
Damian Lewis, the narrator of Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs, mentioned that dinosaurs are fascinating subjects with enduring allure for various types of viewers. There’s an amazing wealth of knowledge and a captivating tale about the most incredible beasts to roam our Earth in this project, making it both enlightening and entertaining.

I am thrilled to be involved in sharing this tale, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the Prehistoric World for viewers.
In what other location can you find yourself standing close to a full-sized, active Tyrannosaurus Rex in its natural environment?
It’s likely that Aaron is the top choice for the next role of James Bond, with Jack Lowden, another 35-year-old actor from Dunkirk, and Theo James, a 40-year-old star from Netflix, being strong contenders as well.
According to bookmaker Coral, there’s a significant surge of backing towards Aaron, making him the clear front-runner at odds of 9-4 for the part.
Meanwhile Theo is second best in the betting at 4-1, while Jack is backed at 5-1.
Elsewhere the betting site have Superman star Henry Cavill, 42, with odds of 10-1.
John Hill from Coral commented: ‘There’s been another surge of backing for Aaron Taylor-Johnson as our next bet for James Bond. However, other contenders have also been associated with the part in the past few weeks.’

‘The British actor remains the man punters are backing to replace Daniel Craig’.
It’s thought that Tom, the actor playing Spiderman, won’t be able to secure the role of 007 because he’ll soon start filming Spider-Man 4, tentatively titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, within the next few months.
As your go-to lifestyle guru, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! On Wednesday, it was officially confirmed that Denis Villeneuve, renowned for masterfully directing the two-part Dune adaptation under Warner Bros., has agreed to take on the helm for our upcoming untitled Bond film. This announcement was made through an Amazon press release. So buckle up, folks! We’re in for a truly captivating ride with this new chapter of 007.
In addition to being the director for this upcoming project, the 57-year-old filmmaker of French-Canadian descent, will also take on the role of executive producer. This role will be shared with Tanya Lapointe as well.
Previously, Amazon revealed that Amy Pascal and David Heyman would be the movie’s producers, following the separation of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson from their longstanding role as James Bond producers for the studio.
Approximately three years have passed since Amazon finalized its huge $8.5 billion purchase of MGM Studios, which encompassed the James Bond franchise.
It’s been over a year (since 2021) since we last saw a Bond movie, specifically No Time to Die, which was Daniel Craig’s final appearance as our favorite secret agent.
In his statement, the director shared that some of his most cherished cinema experiences involve the character 007. From a young age, he would watch James Bond movies alongside his father, starting with Dr. No and Sean Connery in the role.
He mentioned, “I’m an ardent James Bond fan. To me, he’s hallowed ground. I aim to uphold the legacy and pave the way for numerous future adventures.
The filmmaker openly acknowledged that this task was both a significant responsibility and an extraordinarily thrilling opportunity, as well as a great privilege for them.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards Amy and David, the producers of Bond, mentioning that they were “overjoyed” to have him return to the big screen once more. I also want to extend my appreciation to Amazon MGM Studios for placing their faith in us.
Denis Villeneuve has had a deep affection for James Bond films ever since he was just a young lad, as stated by Amy and David.
He had long cherished the ambition of creating this film, and we share that dream now. It’s truly fortunate for us to have such a remarkable director guiding our project.
Following Amazon’s purchase of MGM in 2022, they secured complete artistic authority over the 007 series, thanks to an agreement reached with Barbara and Michael, children of Albert R. Broccoli, the initial James Bond producer.
Barbara and Michael assumed management of their father’s Eon Productions company back in 1995, as he handed over control to them.
In March 2025, Amazon finalized a deal with Barbara and Michael; the specifics regarding their financial aspects were kept confidential, but whispers suggested it could potentially exceed $1 billion.
Villeneuve made his directorial debut in 1998 with August 32nd on Earth, which
It’s being reported that decision-makers at Amazon are mulling over potential sites for their upcoming movie, a project that analysts have speculated will hit screens towards the end of next year or as late as 2027.

Next year, it seems that a filming ban in Central London could lead productions to explore alternative sites. Reportedly, The Sun suggests that Liverpool is a strong contender for these new locations.
A confidential source shared with the media: “This decision is likely to annoy fans of the Bond series, who are concerned that Amazon’s potential control over the 07 franchise might result in significant alterations.
‘But Liverpool is a well-known alternative to London for film-makers.
It can be found in a variety of films such as The Batman, Captain America, and the Harry Potter series. In these productions, it often serves as stand-ins for multiple global cities.
It was mentioned that the tale may not specifically take place in Liverpool, although keen observers from Liverpool might recognize their city center in the scenery behind it.
