Sophie Turner jokes she got her sex education as a teen from the ‘crazy’ scenes on Game Of Thrones and reveals she’s NEVER watched it back

Sophie Turner openly shared that the explicit scenes in “Game of Thrones” served as a source for her sex education.

The actress, who was 12 years old at the time, initially tried out for the part of Sansa Stark and started shooting at age 14. Her work on the series concluded during its eighth season when she was 23 years old.

Pondering back on her time on the HBO series, Sophie humorously mentioned that the explicit scenes filmed on set served as her source of sex education lessons.

During its eight-year run, the fantasy series gained significant attention for its explicit nudity and provocative plotlines.

Indeed, quite extraordinary! It’s clear that the TV show was my source of sex education, as Sophie humorously implied during her conversation on the Dish from Waitrose podcast. She made it abundantly clear that she had learned more than enough.

Sophie openly acknowledged that she’s never seen the series, even though she’s a part of it, adding a touch of humor to the worldwide phenomenon’s intrigue when prompted about it.

As for me, I haven’t seen the series myself, so I can’t provide specific details about it, but I do know what my character does on the show, and let me tell you, it’s not exactly admirable,” she admitted with a chuckle.

Essentially, it’s a power struggle among rival dynasties vying for the crown. In addition, there are dragons involved, but not much else to add.

Sophie confessed that seeing herself on screen leaves her feeling ‘awful’ and triggers a spell of ‘depression.’

‘I’ve been forced to endure-like premieres and whatnot. But I mean, it’s just awful,’ she shared.

After watching something that triggers a prolonged period of depression in me, about two months, I choose not to engage with it again. To be honest, I can’t even fathom the idea, let alone express it if I could. Instead, I’m heading home to unwind by watching all my movies.

Even though she doesn’t personally watch Game of Thrones, she refers to it as an ‘outstanding acting workshop’ when discussing her upcoming role in this successful, lengthy series.

She confessed that securing the highly coveted role was equivalent to winning a contest, and furthermore, revealed that over the course of almost a decade, they had grown incredibly close, much like a family.

She described it as truly impressive. It significantly influenced various aspects of her life, from making business choices and maintaining proper behavior on set, to shaping the way she conducts herself.

‘Everything I learned from Game of Thrones – and a bit from my parents.’

Sophie additionally provided an uncommon glimpse into her household dynamics with her two offspring, the four-year-old Willa and two-year-old Delphine, whom she co-parents with her former partner, Joe Jonas.

She shared that she adheres to a policy of avoiding phones during dinner, explaining that she valued those family gatherings at mealtimes with her parents and two siblings as a child.

Nevertheless, she acknowledged encountering challenges at times, particularly when juggling the demands of caring for two young kids.

In her childhood, it was customary that no phones were used during meals. Instead, there would be a pleasant hour of conversation with family members.

I truly relished that experience and have made an effort to maintain it. [sighs] I’m giving it my best shot. You understand, right? With a four-year-old and a two-year-old, it’s not like I can just sit down.

Additionally, she jokingly disclosed that certain candy, specifically Milky Way bars, are strictly off-limits for her kids because she keeps a personal stash of them in a jar.

She mentioned that in her home, there are small containers filled with suitable meals such as pasta and assorted items, and placed next to them is a jar containing Milky Ways. This was the information she chose to share.

‘The kids will try and take one, but hands off. That’s mummy’s.’

2019 saw me the happiest, watching Sophie and Joe say “I do”. But alas, our fairytale unraveled four years on, as I learned that Joe had filed for divorce in September 2023. My heart aches, for their love story has taken a sorrowful turn.

A year after being embroiled in a bitter legal dispute that made headlines, I pursued a resolution through legal means.

Throughout this period, the two stars found themselves embroiled in a dispute regarding the guardianship of their children, with disagreements arising about which parent would have primary residence for the youngsters.

In March, it was disclosed by the Mail on Sunday that Sophie intended to return to her native United Kingdom along with their two kids.

In spite of the challenging separation they went through, Sophie and Joe seem to have improved their relationship and were lately seen leisurely walking around New York City together.

Sophie publicly endorsed Joe’s latest album, “Music For People Who Believe In Love,” on her social media platforms, indicating a strong bond and mutual support between the two.

Prior to the launch of her album, she posted a picture of the upcoming project on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by an encouraging caption, “Onwards, @joejonas!

Joe has lately disclosed that his former partners maintain a ‘wonderful cooperative parenting arrangement’ and described Sophie as an ‘exceptional’ mother.

In the TikTok video, Joe expressed his gratitude for the wonderful co-parenting relationship he has.

‘Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.’
