Full House star Candace Cameron Bure drops divorce bombshell as she admits to ‘rough season’ in marriage
Actress Candace Cameron Bure, famous for her role on Full House, revealed a surprising near-divorce event in her marriage.
49-year-old actress shared details about a challenging period she experienced with her husband, Valeri Bure, following three decades of wedlock.
Last year in 2020, they came close to parting ways and even considered finalizing their divorce, but it was their son who steered them back toward reunion in their marriage.
In the latest episode of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, which aired on Tuesday, she mentioned that they had a very difficult period in their marriage.
She said at one point, they both had thoughts about splitting up until their kids stepped in.
The situation was deteriorating rapidly, and we found ourselves saying, “I’m not sure… I’m worried that we might not pull through.

They’ve been wed since 1996 and their family consists of three grown-up kids: Natasha (age 26), Lev (age 25), and Maksim (age 23).
She remembered the instance when their middle offspring, their oldest son Lev – who was simultaneously recording the podcast alongside her and Pastor Jonathan ‘JP’ Pokluda – intervened and led them safely past a challenging period concerning religious matters.
‘Lev came up to us and said, “We’d like to talk to you guys”,’ she recalled.
In simpler terms, Lev delivered a 45-minute discourse on marriage to us, with his Bible open on the couch, engaging in an informal discussion about the topic.
She went on to say, ‘And I’ll always remember his words. He explained, “I’m unmarried and still quite young, which might make advice about marriage difficult to accept from someone like me who hasn’t lived it myself. However, I don’t need to be married to understand what the Bible teaches.”‘
The actress expressed that her son’s viewpoint enlightened them about their own family principles.
He possessed an exceptionally composed demeanor filled with profound insight. Directly addressing both me and Val, he inquired sincerely, “Have you exhausted all possible efforts?
‘We walked away from that, and Val and I were like, “We raised pretty good kids.”

She went on to say, “That conversation was crucial for us. After it, things shifted significantly. It’s a totally new situation when your children have the maturity to discuss this with you and ask, ‘Aren’t you behaving responsibly?'”
Or
She explained, “That discussion was a turning point in our lives. Since then, we’ve seen a major transformation. It’s an entirely new ball game when your kids take the initiative to sit you down and ask, ‘Are you acting as grown-up as you should be?’
She added: ‘I’m so grateful to Lev, and Maks and Natasha. They were so supportive of everything.’
Previously, the former star of Fuller House shared insights on how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted her married life.
During an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle in March 2021, she acknowledged that matters we had long avoided discussing suddenly became evident and confronted us directly.
It was inevitable that we needed to discuss these matters directly, sort out any difficulties together.
Or,
It became necessary for us to converse about these issues face-to-face, tackle challenges as they arose.
In my starstruck enthusiasm, I found myself captivated by the charismatic charm of a once-prominent NFL hockey player, a connection that ignited shortly after being introduced by my esteemed Full House colleague, Dave Coulier. Before the year’s end, he swept me off my feet with a heartwarming proposal, leaving me overjoyed and eager to embark on our shared journey together.

This past month, the Bures commemorated a significant event – their wedding anniversary – demonstrating that they have successfully surmounted any challenges and resolved their differences.
On June 22, she shared a gushing tribute dedicated to her partner on Instagram.
Thirty-one years ago, we had our initial official date at his ice rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick. @dcoulier brought us together for the first time at a charitable hockey game in Los Angeles four months prior, as she shared.
30 years back, on June 20th, I proposed in the city of love, Paris. Exactly 29 years ago today, June 22nd, we exchanged vows. Over these years, we’ve nurtured a beautiful family. Happy anniversary to my cherished partner and forever friend. And this was our song for our first dance.
