Ringo Starr celebrates his 85th birthday in Beverly Hills with star-studded bash and even Paul McCartney checked-in on his Beatles bandmate

On Monday, Ringo Starr celebrated his 85th birthday at an impressive party filled with celebrities in Beverly Hills.

Previously of the Beatles, the man appeared vibrant and fit as he mingled with other well-known stars, such as Joe Walsh from the Eagles band.

83-year-old Paul McCartney arrived at the yearly Peace and Love gathering. Ringo Starr beamed with joy as he phoned his ex-Beatles companion, and after being connected, he conveyed his good wishes over the speakerphone.

Only Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, the remaining Beatles, are still living; both John Lennon and George Harrison have passed away – John due to murder in 1980 and George from cancer in 2001.

Before the occasion, Ringo expressed gratitude towards fans for their long-term support and mentioned that his traditional birthday desire, as always, is for ‘harmony and affection’.

In 2019, the city received a gift from the star – a Peace and Love sculpture that he had personally designed, symbolizing his strong yearning for peace.

Ringo took the opportunity to pose in front of the statue, making peace signs at the bash.

The ex-Beatle wasn’t alone amidst other artworks; instead, he was photographed standing before a towering Indian elephant statue, part of the Great Elephant Migration Art Exhibition, an initiative aimed at promoting conservation efforts.

In the 60s-inspired attire, Richard Starkey, more commonly known as Ringo, sported a peace symbol pendant and stylishly tinted oval shades.

He gave a contemporary update to his attire by donning a white denim jacket and black jeans, aligning with the motif through a black T-shirt emblazoned with a message of peace and love.

At the event, a tribute concert was given for the renowned musician. Accompanied by his wife, Barbara Bach (age 77), he enthusiastically joined in the singing.

Every year since 2008, Ringo has initiated his Peace and Love campaign, inviting everyone present and global fans alike to take a brief pause at noon on his birthday, to ponder and share their thoughts on peace and love.

The incident commenced following a reporter’s query about the renowned musician’s desired birthday gift as he reached 68. In response, Ringo casually said, “I wish for peace and love.

Ringo Starr, the famous musician, hosted his inaugural “Peace and Love” birthday celebration in the vibrant city of Chicago. This event is generally a chance for him to interact with both adoring fans and close companions.

Despite the pandemic, Ringo’s longing for Love and Peace persisted, leading him to host the event digitally instead, welcoming fans from all around the world to participate.

Titled “Ringo’s Grand Birthday Spectacle,” this event featured exclusive concert clips and performances by Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and numerous others.

Before celebrating his 85th birthday, Ringo confessed that despite his increasing age, he doesn’t feel any older than when he was 24 years old.

He told The New York Times of his age: ‘It blows me away.

‘I look in the mirror and I’m 24. I never got older than 24.’ 

Ringo attributes his youthful look and zest for living to the fact that he follows his passions.

He commented, “From the very beginning of my journey, my mom used to attend my performances. She’d often tell me, ‘I can tell, dear, that you seem most content when you’re drumming.'” Indeed, she was perceptive and I concur with her observation.
