Denise Richards’ husband, Aaron Phypers, files for divorce and wants alimony

It appears that Denise Richards and her husband, Aaron Phypers, are deciding to live apart following six years of being married.

On Monday, it was confirmed by The Times that Phypers submitted a divorce petition against actor and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Richards. He filed this petition in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. He attributes the split to “irreconcilable differences” and marks July 4 as the separation date from Richards.

A representative for Richards did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment.

In 2018, the actor known for his role in “Wild Things,” Richard Gere (54 years old), got married to Cindy Phypers (49). They don’t have any children together, but Gere has two adult daughters from his former marriage to Charlie Sheen. The pair were married from 2002 until 2006. Additionally, Gere is the mother of a teenage girl whom she adopted as an infant.

According to reports from The Times, it appears that Phypers is requesting alimony from his former spouse due to financial reasons. In court filings, he stated that he hasn’t earned any income since shutting down a business last year, while estimating that his wife earns over $250,000 per month through multiple business ventures, endorsements, TV work, and content on OnlyFans. Phypers has also requested to maintain separate ownership of their assets and debts, including power tools, a motorcycle, and a sports car, as indicated in legal documents.

Starting in 2017, the duo embarked on their romantic journey and tied the knot approximately a year and a half later at a secluded ceremony in Malibu. Their nuptials took place in September 2018, just one month after Phypers officially ended his marriage with Sheridan through divorce.

In the premiere of her Peacock series “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” she stated in a private interview, “I swear I won’t get divorced again. Even if we despise each other, I won’t let divorce be an option.
