Near-perfect period drama’s “more rewarding” return season has hit this UK streaming chart
Season three of The Gilded Age is currently trending in NOW’s UK streaming chart.
In the world of New York high society during the late 1800s, a period drama unfolds, crafted by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame. This captivating tale revolves around aristocratic families who find themselves at odds with their counterparts from newly-acquired wealth.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that this upcoming show boasts an impressive lineup of talented actors, including Carrie Coon from The White Lotus, Christine Baranski who stole our hearts in Mamma Mia!, Taissa Farmiga known for her roles in American Horror Story, and the charismatic Cynthia Nixon from Sex and the City.

In June, the third season of “The Gilded Age” has climbed up to the third position in the UK’s top 10 streaming charts on NOW.
In the latest round of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, season three has nearly a flawless rating of 94%, based on 33 expert opinions. Many seem to concur that this installment stands out as the most impressive so far.
Entertainment Voice commented on the third season, stating that “The Gilded Age” offers a lot of enjoyable entertainment and this new season explores further depths, making the viewing experience even more satisfying.
In this particular season, the long-awaited effects finally manifest. It’s no accident that this is the series’ most impactful stretch. The initial seeds sown are now bearing fruit. (attribution: The New Yorker)
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share my perspective: With the arrival of its latest season, The Gilded Age has truly taken substantial strides in delivering more substantial content.
According to Variety, “The Gilded Age” is now more securely established than ever before, as it has moved beyond the initial struggle of balancing a fascination with the past and acknowledging its imperfections, after three successful seasons.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the latest episodes of HBO’s “Gilded Age” finally provide compelling narratives for its Black characters that match those of their white counterparts. This change results in the series’ best and most enjoyable installment to date.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that not everyone seemed to share my enthusiasm for the latest season of “The Gilded Age”. To put it plainly, The Wall Street Journal suggested that there’s a thin layer of gilding on the eight episodes, and it wasn’t flattering. They went as far as to say that Susan Sontag, in her definition of ‘camp’ as “failed seriousness”, might have been describing this season perfectly.
The Gilded Age is available to stream on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK and HBO Max in the US.
The latest print edition from Digital Spy is out now! You can grab a copy of “Oasis – Live in ’25” at your local newsstands or purchase it online for only £8.99.
