The actor from Heartstopper, who is 21 years old, donned a hat that read “straight for pay” as he enjoyed the night dancing with a trans influencer, aged 28. This happened only a few days after they publicly announced their relationship on social media by sharing a photo together.

In her post, she wrote: ‘Our first photo session together – thanks for inviting us to Camp Koko.’ Later, Joe responded: ‘It was a smooth start.’

In an exclusive chat with Teen Vogue, Joe, known for his role as Charlie Spring in Netflix’s Heartstopper, discussed his personal sexuality for the first time: “People have speculated and even written about me being gay, and I haven’t felt compelled to correct anyone because it wasn’t necessary. However, I haven’t explicitly declared my sexual orientation before.

He shared with the media outlet that he had recognized his homosexuality roughly at the age of nine. Furthermore, he mentioned that he has been openly identifying as gay since about the age of twelve.

As Dylan garnered recognition with her Days of Girlhood TikTok series in 2022, she shared her gender transition journey with millions of spectators.

In the earlier part of this year, she released an autobiography entitled ‘Paper Doll: Musings from a Delayed Blossom’. This book explores her journey to stardom and touches upon some of the scandals she encountered.

In 2023, her partnership with Bud Light ignited a significant boycott that was later referred to as one of the most substantial in American history by scholars at Harvard Business School.

The response was quick and intense, with customers organizing protests and Kid Rock sharing videos on the internet where he fired cans of Bud Light using a gun.

It’s anticipated that Anheuser-Busch suffered over $1 billion in revenue loss due to their choice to hire her, as this decision resulted in them losing their position as the top-selling beer brand in the U.S.

In the book, Dylan discusses an incident often referred to as ‘Beergate.’ However, she doesn’t explicitly mention Bud Light in her account.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share the uproar among conservatives when Dylan posted a promotional video, striking poses with Bud Light cans bearing her image, donning a dress reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The juxtaposition was quite intriguing!

Despite appearing otherwise, due to the backlash with numerous transphobic remarks, Bud Light didn’t sell the special cans featuring Dylan publicly; instead, they were custom-made for him alone.

Nevertheless, since wild cans were non-existent, conservative and right-wing personalities still pledged to refrain from purchasing the beer.

As a die-hard admirer, I can wholeheartedly say that in her remarkable work, Dylan expressed feelings of forsakenness and deep disillusionment towards the brand. She further shared her personal conviction that Bud Light, unfortunately, failed to publicly denounce hatred directed towards the transgender community.

Despite the company remaining silent about the interview, Light stated in a 2023 declaration: “Our goal has never been to contribute to divisive conversations. Instead, we strive to unite individuals by offering them a shared experience through beer.

Additionally, she openly acknowledged struggling with thoughts of suicide following a barrage of threats and encounters with stalkers.

She feared that the backlash to the video had harmed the LGBTQ community.

She mentioned that if she had been aware of the consequences that would have occurred, she wouldn’t have accepted that job.

She informed People that two years had passed, and she is now approximately a thousand times more robust than she was prior to that challenging event.

She said, “At last, I find myself at peace, mentally strong. It feels as though I’m truly prepared to share with the world my personal journey and the hidden aspects of it.

Dylan openly acknowledged that she possessed a strong character, sometimes coming across as overly theatrical in her musical leanings, and she made no secret of not appealing to everyone.

On the other hand, she was hopeful that additional brands might take a cue from Bud Light, stepping tentatively in this direction, to boost transgender representation.

As an advocate for inclusivity, I eagerly anticipate the day when breweries thoughtfully incorporate diverse voices into their branding and marketing strategies. I hope they’ll do this tastefully and respectfully, fostering conversations that are both engaging and instrumental in guiding our culture towards positive change.
