Over the past weekend, Billy Brownless marked his one-year anniversary with girlfriend Crystle Fleur, however, the joy was short-lived as internet critics quickly cast a shadow on their special day.

On Sunday, the longtime partner of the ex-AFL star shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to mark their significant anniversary, featuring a lovely photo of them together. This special moment garnered close to 7,000 likes.

Nevertheless, numerous individuals flooded the comment area of the post with their opinions regarding the pairing. Some suggested that Billy, aged 58, was above his level with the mother-of-three, who is also 52, while others claimed he was “outmatching” her, implying she’s not in his league.

‘Good to see you happy Bill, but still punching way above,’ one person wrote.

Meanwhile, one cruel commenter  said that Crystle looked young enough to be his ‘granddaughter’.

‘Congratulations to your granddaughter,’ they wrote. 

However, another fan piped up in the couple’s defence, saying: ‘She’s 52.’ 

‘Surely that’s your son’s partner,’ another person wrote.

Billy marked the one-year milestone of his relationship with Crystle by organizing an enchanting escape, a heartfelt surprise on Sunday.

On a recent Instagram post, she expressed her affection for her partner, subtly suggesting exciting developments ahead for them as a contented duo.

First anniversary wishes for this fantastic guy!” The mother of three wrote this as the caption for her post, which included an adorable picture of them both beaming broadly.

She remarked, “We’re embarking on a year filled with love, laughter, and extraordinary journeys, as we take flight for our grandest adventure yet!

The pair plans to mark their anniversary by going on a vacation together, but they haven’t decided on the destination just yet.

Billy and Crystle made their relationship official about a year ago in October, and it appears that their bond is growing stronger.

On multiple instances, they’ve been seen spending time together in public, such as at the Geelong’s Best and Fairest awards towards the end of the previous season, the Australian Open in January, and Ruby’s wedding in March.
