Home and Away star Christie Hayes shows off her baby bump during a stroll with her son in Tasmania as she reveals details of her pregnancy after miscarriage tragedy
It has been a rollercoaster year for former Home and Away star Christie Hayes.
Following a heartbreaking miscarriage, the former actress is now happily six months pregnant and doing well.
Over a chilly winter walk by the Derwent River, close to their home in Tasmania, a 38-year-old woman couldn’t hide her delight as she walked with her young son, Harley.
In unique images captured by Daily Mail Australia, Christie, best known for portraying the rebellious teenager Kirsty Sutherland in the classic Australian soap opera back in 2000, hid her growing belly under a cozy purple sweater with a cable knit design.
In a gentle manner, Harley, who was nine years old, softly caressed his mother’s belly while they snuggled close during their stroll together.

In just a few short weeks, the beloved hosts of the morning radio show on Hobart’s Hit 100.9, Dan and Christie, are preparing for the arrival of their new baby girl.
In May, I proudly shared the news on air that my partner Justin Coombes-Pearce (also a radio host at Triple M) and I are eagerly gearing up for the arrival of our first child together. After a challenging four-year journey with in vitro fertilization, we’re beyond thrilled to finally embark on this new adventure.
There’s been plenty to celebrate for Christie in recent months.
With her fellow host Dan Taylor, their morning radio program has just claimed the top spot in the highly competitive breakfast time slot.
Since May 2022, I’ve been teamed up with another individual in a hosting role, and for the very first time, we’ve achieved the top spot, effectively unseating 7HOFM’s Sarah Mick and Johnno from their throne.
Christie shared with Daily Mail Australia that her pregnancy is going smoothly, and she’s becoming increasingly thrilled about the upcoming birth.
‘It’s our first girl, so we’re happy,’ she said.
In her past, Christie has been a mother figure to Harley and their elder sibling Hendrix, aged 10, due to a prior bond.

When she announced her pregnancy, she included an emotional message to families going through IVF.
For the past four years, I’ve been working on something incredible… I am now carrying a new life within me. We are overjoyed, feeling secure, and have entered the second phase of pregnancy.
Let me assure you, should you find yourself undergoing In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), please remember that I’ve walked a similar path. I understand the challenges you might face because they were my own. I simply want you to carry this message: miracles do happen. Sometimes, when we least anticipate it, life can take an unexpected turn.
Reflecting on the precious memory of the little angel Christie and Justin have lost, I find solace in the thought that, ‘Following every storm, there’s always a beautiful rainbow.’
Following the sad loss of a child, we experienced two consecutive pregnancies that ended prematurely due to chemicals. Now, miraculously, our long-awaited addition has arrived. Everything seems clearer now; it’s as if this final piece has finally completed our life’s jigsaw puzzle.
To all my comrades in the battle of In Vitro Fertilization – I acknowledge you. I am one with you. If you continue to wait, feel the pain, hold on to hope – please don’t surrender. Your miracle may be close at hand, your tale is not yet complete and we never know what the next page in your book will bring.
‘Our beautiful boys and my darling husband and I couldn’t be happier.’
In April, Christie told New Idea magazine that losing their first baby ‘ripped our hearts out’.

For the little one affectionately called ‘Sunflower’, they prepared a unique holiday ornament with the message: “Mommy and Daddy eagerly anticipate meeting you in 2024.
At that point, Christie expressed a mix of optimism and practicality regarding the possibility of another pregnancy.
On May 26th this very year, Justin took to social media with a heartfelt announcement – he was about to embark on the journey of fatherhood.
He expressed relief, saying, “At last, we’ve reached the ‘safe area’, and I find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that I’m actually able to utter those words.
We’ve experienced a deeper level of sorrow than we could have foreseen – countless consultations, IVF attempts that failed, instances where we felt shattered, and sleepless nights when we held onto one another for support during our darkest hours, when hope seemed scarce.
However, amidst everything, our faith in this vision remained unwavering. Every day, the pulse of hope grows a little more robust, and so does our affection and anticipation.
