He struck a deal with Riri Williams during that series, but throughout it, he hinted at having connections all over the Hellfire. Although he vaguely mentioned his clients to Riri, fans speculate which MCU characters might strike deals with Mephisto in the future. Since viewers noticed what they believed were hints in WandaVision, there is great anticipation for the arrival of this well-known Marvel Comics character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s quite unexpected that following two storylines centered around magic, he appeared in a series seemingly dedicated to technology. Due to the tragic loss of her friend Natalie, Riri Williams agrees to a pact with Mephisto, despite being aware it might not be wise. Despite being defeated by She-Hulk and falling from grace, Titania’s ambition to regain her fame and wealth makes her an attractive target for someone like Mephisto. As Leader of the Ten Rings, She Wants Power and the Marvel Devil Might Help Her Get It

Four years after their initial appearance, there remains optimism about more stories featuring the characters. Although Shang-Chi is likely to appear in another MCU film prior to his sequel, his sister Xu Xialing, now head of the Ten Rings, may not get a similar opportunity soon. Following the occurrences in “Doctor Strange”, the main character of the MCU, Doctor Strange, experienced the tragic loss of his close friend and ally, Karl Mordo. Though a deleted scene suggests the Scarlet Witch ended my life, that’s not necessarily set in stone.

On the Radar of Both Avengers Teams, Mephisto Could Give the Slighted Hero an Edge

Initially, Sharon Carter proved herself a valiant hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, always ready to assist Captain America whenever needed. However, following an awkward encounter and confronting the wrath of the U.S. Government, she took a dark turn. She escaped to Madripoor and transformed into the Power Broker, exploiting her position by granting powers to villains and others for financial gain. Now that Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and their respective Avengers teams are in the know about her, she might need to strike deals with Mephisto to boost her power levels just to stay alive.

Sharon Carter’s transformation was a standout moment in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, yet her character still feels underdeveloped as she has been largely absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe following her heel turn. Bitter, resentful, and hungry for power and wealth, she presents an intriguing possibility for a pact with Mephisto. He might grant her not only personal power but also the capacity to bestow others’ desires for power without requiring super-soldier serum, gamma rays, or other power-granting elements common in the MCU.

Mephisto Could Help the Once-Powerful MCU Antagonist Get Back on Top

Towards the conclusion of “Thunderbolts”, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine flipped the script on the team she betrayed by declaring them as the New Avengers. It’s plausible that the Marvel villain Mephisto had struck a deal with Valentina before she became so wealthy and powerful, as depicted in Thunderbolts*. Her sudden rise to power and subsequent outmaneuvering by Yelena and others might be indicative of the kind of predestined failure often associated with Faustian bargains. However, even if she isn’t already bound to Mephisto, Valentina is a character in the MCU who could potentially make such a deal without the same level of self-sabotage that Parker Robbins exhibited.

If his confinement started prior to Tony Stark’s demise in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Rhodey might be driven enough by desperation to seek help from Mephisto.

Even die-hard supporters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe find it hard to explain why “Secret Invasion” didn’t meet expectations, given that the revelation about Rhodey was intended to pave the way for a new MCU venture. However, this subsequent project has yet to materialize. To make War Machine’s story more impactful within the MCU, writers could introduce the character Mephisto in a future Avengers film. This could happen when Rhodey regains his full power and is even more respected than before. A later narrative could then disclose that this boost was due to Mephisto’s supernatural intervention, as part of a deal James Rhodes made following years of personal setbacks.

To Get Around Her Jilted Ex-Girlfriend, Mephisto Could Help Her Come Back

At the end of Agatha All Along, the titular witch sacrificed herself for the greater good, but she didn’t go gently into that good night. Instead, she returned as a witch and teamed up with Wiccan to hunt for his brother. While she may be sincere in her desire to help him, she might also want to help herself. Few beings in the MCU are as powerful as Death herself, but Mephisto could easily be one of them. Somewhere along her journey, the powerful witch could be eager to make a deal with the Marvel Devil to get her body back.

It’s not just Agatha Harkness who might have struck a bargain with Mephisto and intend to outwit him in the MCU. However, she is among the select few who may realistically accomplish such a feat. Over hundreds of years, her extensive knowledge of magic and encounters with cosmic entities could provide her an upper hand to trick Mephisto. In fact, she might manipulate their deal to instigate a conflict between Mephisto and Death themselves, allowing these powerful magical beings to duke it out. Once the battle is over, Agatha could then negotiate her way out of trouble with whichever survivor remains standing.

The Scarlet Witch and Mephisto Have a Deep Connection in Marvel Comics

Considering the anticipation surrounding Mephisto’s appearance in WandaVision, it seems plausible that Wanda Maximoff could be involved in some kind of deal. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she was last seen, but according to Agatha All Along, her death is only presumed. Since no body was found and there’s always a possibility that dying isn’t the end for Marvel characters, it’s reasonable to believe that Wanda Maximoff might still have a role in the MCU. If she has indeed managed to evade death or if she has truly perished, Mephisto could very well be her next move.

Ever since the series WandaVision, Wanda has been driven mainly by her determination to regain her lost children. It was revealed in Agatha All Along that they are still alive in an unusual manner, but she is unaware of this. In the comics, it’s the Scarlet Witch who acquired Mephisto’s power to create Billy and Tommy. This sets the stage for a future encounter between Wanda Maximoff and Mephisto. Even though the Scarlet Witch wields immense power, her children are the kind of leverage Mephisto could use to deceive her into a bargain. However, similar to Agatha Harkness, Mephisto might find himself dealing with a client who is powerful enough to counter him.

The Comics Set a Clear Precedent for the Web-Head to Deal With the Devil

In the movie “No Way Home,” the death of Aunt May provides the same circumstances that in the comics led Spider-Man to encounter Mephisto, ultimately costing him his marriage with Mary Jane. Given that Peter Parker is now alone and seemingly forgotten, he might be desperate enough to make a deal with Mephisto if he offers to bring Aunt May back from the dead.

In contrast to the comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man hasn’t shared a history with Mephisto. However, if Mephisto were to appear and suggest that he could restore Peter Parker’s lost past, this might prompt Peter to trust him.
