Eva Longoria, Shakira and Christie Brinkley share emotional reaction to catastrophic Texas floods
Eva Longoria, Shakira, and Christie Brinkley are among a number of famous Hollywood figures expressing their dismay following the catastrophic flooding in Texas, which has reportedly claimed at least 67 lives.
On a Sunday, Longoria, who hails from Texas’s Lone Star State where she was both born and nurtured, expressed her sorrow on Instagram for the affected victims and their families in Kerr County.
The actress from Desperate Housewives, who is now 50 years old, shared that her heart was filled with sadness for all those affected by the floods in Texas.
In a heartfelt video, she expressed her shock at the devastating floods and their impact on the affected camp. Many families she knows have been regular visitors to these camps for a long time, she added. She sent her sympathies to those families and communities, saying it’s harder to help when one is so far away.
The single mother shared that she finds it difficult to observe the ICE raids while filming her latest show, Eva Longoria: In Quest of France, from a distance.
As a devoted supporter, I followed suit, lauding those valiantly battling for justice, having stepped out of the church after offering a heartfelt prayer for every immigrant out there.
‘Currently, the world seems quite challenging. I urge everyone to prioritize their mental well-being while keeping informed about the news. However, it’s important not to get stuck in a loop of constant exposure… doing so might lead to stress and confusion, but on the other hand, remaining informed is crucial.’
Colombian star Shakira announced that part of the earnings from her San Antonio concert will go towards a charitable organization.
‘To San Antonio, my thoughts and hopes go out to those suffering from the flood in Central Texas. Tonight, we’re giving part of our earnings to the Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are helping families affected by this disaster.’
‘She went on to say: ‘Should you wish to contribute by donating alongside me, kindly click on the link provided. Your assistance is significant and valued.’
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to echo the kindness shown by stars such as Christie Brinkley, Maren Morris, and Katherine Schwarzenegger. They’ve generously shared ways we can lend a helping hand during these challenging times. Here are some resources you might consider:
1. Donating to organizations like the American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, Mercy Chefs, who are tirelessly working on providing essential aid and food relief.
2. Supporting Kerrville Pets Alive!, a group devoted to rescuing pets displaced by floods and reuniting them with their families.
Your compassionate contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected. Let’s come together as a community and help each other through these trying times.
Miranda Lambert, the founder of the charity organization MuttNation Foundation that aids animals and shelters, took to Instagram to ask her followers for their support in a fundraising event organized by her foundation.
Greetings everyone, I feel compelled to express my deep sorrow upon learning about the catastrophic flooding in South and Central Texas. I struggle to find the right words to convey the pain and hardship endured by everyone.
The nation’s famous singer expressed that she, along with the MuttNation Foundation, are actively seeking solutions to aid pet owners affected by the disaster and gather updates about the current state of affairs.

‘Keep sending prayers and I’ll keep you posted,’ she said.
Brooklyn Decker urged residents of Austin, Texas who wish to offer flood relief aid to Kerville, Ingram, Hunt, and neighboring regions, to donate items such as canned food, bottled water, clothing (in all sizes), hygiene products, garbage bags, brooms, shovels, fundamental cleaning supplies, and emergency essentials at the Commodore Perry Estate.
Joanna Gaines expressed her sympathy towards everyone impacted by the floods on the Guadalupe River, and in particular, those who are yet to receive information about their missing family members.
In closing, to those affected families, frontline workers, and the wider communities: our thoughts and support are with you during these challenging times.
By Sunday morning, a total of 67 individuals have been reported dead, while 11 campers (all girls) and one camp counselor from Camp Mystic remain unaccounted for.
Of the dead, 46 are adults and 21 are children, local officials said.
Sadly, the incidents happened following an alarming rise of about 30 feet in the Guadalupe River beyond its usual level, which resulted in catastrophic destruction at a summer camp for children and tore apart many families.
