HoYoverse has announced that the Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1, known as “The Impending Crash of Waves,” is set to release on July 16, 2025. This summer-themed update marks the beginning of Season 2 Chapter 2 and offers fresh content including two new regions, a new faction, several events, and much more.

Season 2 Chapter 2 begins with two new regions and storyline

In version 2.1 of ZZZ, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into two fresh areas: Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. The initial area, Sailume Bay, lies beneath Failume Heights and serves as the primary backdrop for Chapter 2’s storyline. Here, Porcelumex will take charge of crucial investigations aimed at resolving the turmoil wrought by the Exaltists.

Within the team, we have Alice Thymefield, a noble scion hailing from the distinguished Thymefield lineage. Later on, she’ll align herself with the emerging Spook Spark faction. In the meantime, Fantasy Resort will unveil an idyllic getaway, offering tranquility, vibrancy, and a host of sandy beaches, towering coconut trees, summer recreations, and captivating tales shrouded in mystery.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 update will feature two new S-tier agents with 2 Reruns

In Version 2.1 of Zenless Zone Zero, we’ve introduced two exceptionally strong S-tier agents, along with the comeback of two beloved characters cherished by fans.

1. Ukinami Yuzuha

Ukinami Yuzuha, a top-tier Physical Support Agent, employs her tanuki companion, Kama, to hurl sweet bombs that expedite your teammates’ Anomaly Buildup more quickly. Her skill, Sweet Scar, adapts to the active agent’s element via Flavor Match, amplifying Anomaly Buildup and inciting Aftershock attacks.

2. Alice Thymefield

Alice Thymefield takes up the role of an elite S-Rank Physical Anomaly Agent, mastering polished sword skills and a distinct system of Blade Etiquette to amplify her offensive capabilities. By utilizing these Blade Etiquette resources, you can unleash potent strikes that boost both Attack Power and Chaos Damage.

3. Miss Esme

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Miss Esme, an esteemed S-Rank Bangboo with support skills, is joining us in the game! Not only that, but beloved characters such as Void Hunter Miyabi and Yanagi are making a comeback in this version’s banners. I can hardly wait!

Summer activities, beach events, and more

The narrative at Fantasy Resort presents you an opportunity to revitalize a once vibrant coastal paradise. Collaborate with Spook Shack to rejuvenate it through an array of enjoyable beach pastimes such as surfing contests, nautical shooting games on yachts, and picturesque boat tours of the sea.

One advantage is that you’ll have the pleasure of discovering fresh fishing locations, filled with novel species and enhanced interactions. This means a more tranquil and gratifying fishing journey, with less repetition. Additionally, summer-themed costumes will be introduced for Yuzuha, Alice, and both main characters.

Furthermore, an exciting new event called “En-Nah Chess Legend” featuring Bangboo Auto Battler will be introduced. This event offers a Player versus Player (PvP) mode and a revised scoring system in the Simulated Battle Trial. Master your combat skills to earn rewards if you enjoy taking on challenges!

In version 2.1 of the game, you’re invited to collect 1,600 Polychromes as part of the celebration for this update! Additionally, the gameplay has been optimized for improved performance and enjoyment.
