Crunchyroll revealed the official trailer for “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” Season 2 during a special event at Anime Expo 2025, where it was first shown to audiences worldwide. The upcoming season, which will be simulcast from Japan, follows Frieren, an immortal elven mage, as she explores a world filled with memory, loss, and thoughtful reflection. Crunchyroll has acquired the global streaming rights, except for Asia, but including India and the Indian Subcontinent.

At the event, we heard from some of the main creative minds behind the show: producer Yuichiro Fukushi, composer Evan Call, and voice actor Chiaki Kobayashi, who portrays Stark. Fukushi announced that Tomoya Kitagawa, who directed several episodes in Season 1 and provided storyboards, will now be the director for Season 2. On the other hand, Keiichiro Saito, the director of Season 1, will come back to oversee the production as Supervising Director.

Made by studio Madhouse, the series titled “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” originates from a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. The first season received rave reviews and numerous accolades due to its powerful emotional content and immersive narrative style. The second season of “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” is slated for release in January 2026.
