What happened to Girl Power? Geri Halliwell and Mel C fail to acknowledge Mel B’s wedding as they skip nuptials – while Victoria Beckham shares tribute despite absence and Emma Bunton is the only Spice Girl to attend

As a diehard Spice Girls fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment that neither Geri Halliwell nor Mel C have given a shout-out or shown up at Mel B’s stunning wedding over the weekend. It seems like the bond between us Spice Sisters is not as strong as it used to be, and that saddens me deeply. I hope they find time to congratulate their dear friend soon!

At St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Mel got married to her fiancé Rory McPhee in the presence of several high-profile attendees, with both her and her partner conspicuously absent from the ceremony.

Indeed, it was Emma Bunton who represented the Spice Girls at the event, as Victoria Beckham couldn’t make it. However, even in her absence, Victoria sent heartwarming messages online.

Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, aged 52, hasn’t shared any hints about the wedding on her social platforms. Similarly, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, who is also 51 years old, has kept quiet regarding the upcoming event in her public posts.

However, at age 51, Posh shared on Instagram a charming, vintage, black-and-white photo featuring herself and the bride along with bandmates Geri, Mel C, and Emma.

Earlier today, Victoria too shared another heartfelt tribute for the pair on Friday, accompanied by a stunning photo of her and Mel, taken at a recent gathering where they both looked elegant.

She gushed in a caption: ‘Sending love to you @officialmelb! @rorymcphee is a very lucky man! xx’

Prior to the wedding, reliable sources informed The Mail that Victoria and Mel had no hard feelings towards each other; instead, it was merely a matter of scheduling issues.

They said: ‘Victoria has long standing plans out of the country and she simply can’t be there.

She truly loves Mel, and surprisingly, they have a wonderful rapport, even though their lives seem to be moving in contrasting ways. It’s genuinely unfortunate.

‘There is no issue between them, they haven’t fallen out. It’s just one of those things.’

Geri’s relationship with Mel is stormy, and they’ve had difficulties coexisting peacefully in the same space on occasion, leading to tension between them.

Two females found themselves at odds following Mel B’s disclosure about having a romantic involvement with Geri during the early days of their band, which she mentioned during an interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories talk show.

In 2019, Geri was reportedly greatly distressed by a surprising disclosure that Mel allegedly hasn’t offered an apology for to this day.

Sources also say that Geri’s husband Christian Horner was ‘mortified’ about Mel’s claims. 

Despite the absence of the other Spice Girls, it was Emma who graced the event with her presence, looking stunning in a chic pink gown while supporting Mel B.

Emma attended the special event alongside her husband, Jade Jones, and their seventeen-year-old son, Beau. Both men were elegantly dressed for the occasion.

Following their exit from the cathedral, Baby Spice graciously paused to sign an autograph for a passionate admirer.

On a Saturday afternoon, Mel made her third walk down the aisle amidst her well-known acquaintances, ultimately transforming into Mrs. McPhee.

In a pristine white dress adorned with pearls, she appeared as radiant as any newlywed on her wedding day while exchanging vows with Rory during the breathtakingly beautiful ceremony.

The dress she wore had a see-through illusion style embellished with white pearls and a gathered waistline, while the vocalist completed her wedding ensemble with a long, flowing veil.

In the meantime, Rory, aged 37, chose to wear a traditional Scottish outfit, which included a kilt in the colors of red and green tartan.

At her wedding, Mel made her grand entrance in a gleaming white Bentley, beaming brightly and smoothing her veil before stepping into the venue.

At the same time, Mel’s kids, Phoenix Chi, Madison, and Angel Iris, couldn’t hide their grins as they made their way to witness their mother walking towards her partner down the aisle.

In a beautiful blue silk gown and matching hat, Phoenix, aged 26, was gracefully accompanied by her partner, AJ Anderson.

In this scene, an 18-year-old sibling, who has transitioned to identifying as male, cut a sharp figure in a sleek black suit. Meanwhile, their 13-year-old sister, Madison, drew attention in a vibrant pink dress with a coordinating accessory.

Notable attendees at the event were television hosts Gabby Logan and Angelica Bell, as well as stand-up comedians Kathleen Ryan and Alan Carr.

At the event, Leigh Francis, Cara Delevingne, and previously known Spice Girls’ manager Simon Fueller were spotted.

Due to receiving the OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 2022 for her outstanding work aiding charitable organizations and assisting vulnerable women, such as Woman’s Aid, Mel was granted the opportunity to tie the knot at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Mel has now said “I do” for a third time, having tied the knot with Dutch backup dancer Jimmy Gulzar back in 1998 as her first marriage.

In 2007, she secretly married Stephen Belafonte in Las Vegas, and then they held a vow renewal ceremony in Egypt the next year.

Mel grew close to Rory after the breakdown of her marriage to Stephen. 

In the previous year, she mentioned that he is a close acquaintance within her family, an exceptionally skilled hairdresser. When she returned to England, he often visited to provide her with hair care treatments.

As he gently tended to my hair, it seems like he was also fostering my trust and faith in our bond.
