The Ark Season 3: Production Begins, Exciting Updates for Fans
Only individuals who are qualified, such as astronauts, have access to travel in space. It seems that wealth, like that held by celebrities such as Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’ wife Lauren Sánchez, can allow for an unnecessary trip into space, but this is not the reality for most people. Instead, they turn to science fiction series for their space exploration fix, like the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises, and now SyFy’s The Ark. The show premiered on February 1, 2023, and produced 24 episodes over two seasons, with a third season set to air in 2026. Fans of the SyFy show have eagerly awaited updates, and finally received one from co-showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Glassner.
As a devoted movie critic, I can’t help but share an exciting piece of news without giving away any spoilers! Recently, the official Instagram account of “The Ark” series posted a photo that left us all thrilled. It was a snapshot from the first day of filming for Season 3, which is now officially in production. The post, made in collaboration with Jon Glassner, displayed a clapperboard bearing Sandra Mitrović’s name as the director. The caption read, “Day 1 of season 3, wrapped! – @jonglassner.”
This announcement serves as a beacon of hope for fans who have been eagerly awaiting more episodes. It’s always intriguing to see that our favorite shows are moving forward and making progress towards giving us another season. In the world of television, it sometimes takes time for production on a new season to commence once a show has been renewed. Therefore, it’s truly refreshing to know that “The Ark” is one step closer to delivering another captivating season to its loyal audience. So, fellow fans, let’s keep our fingers crossed and eagerly anticipate the unraveling of Season 3!
On June 24th, the SyFy X official account (previously known as Twitter) shared a 43-second sneak peek of their show, starring Reece Ritchie and Christie Burke. The caption read, “Bringing you updates straight from space… #TheArk is back in production.” In the video, the two actors are seen strolling on set, addressing the camera directly.
Hey everyone, we’ve got some fantastic news for you! Today marks the beginning of filming season three of our space-themed series, The Ark. We invite you all along this journey with us as we work behind the scenes. And to give you a sneak peek, let’s turn around and show you where we’ll be spending most of our time – the bridge!
What Is ‘The Ark’ About?
As a film enthusiast, I’m particularly excited about the upcoming SyFy series, “The Ark.” According to IMDb, this gripping tale follows the surviving crew of the spacecraft, Ark One, who find themselves in a dire situation after a catastrophic event. The story unfolds a hundred years into the future, where these individuals must strive to better themselves and keep their ship on course to survive. The cast, which is consistently impressive, often takes the sometimes controversial narrative to new heights.
The story primarily focuses on Lieutenant Sharon Garnet (Burke), who steps up to command an interstellar vessel following a catastrophic event. Ritchie portrays Lieutenant Spencer Lane, a senior crew member (one of three survivors) with reservations about Garnet’s leadership capabilities. The cast also includes Richard Fleeshman as Lieutenant James Brice, Stacey Read as Alicia Nevins, Ryan Adams as Angus Medford, Pavle Jerinić as Felix Strickland, Christina Wolfe as Dr. Catrina “Cat” Brandice, and several others who reappear as recurring characters. Despite a 50% Rotten Tomatoes rating, the audience’s enthusiasm has kept the series going.
