Jonathan LaPaglia’s wife speaks out after his brutal axing from Survivor Australia and slams Channel Ten: ‘He doesn’t deserve this’

Jonathan LaPaglia’s wife has finally spoken up following the harsh termination of his role as host on Channel 10 for Australian Survivor.

Earlier this week, it seems that Jonathan subtly criticized David Genat, who is rumored to replace him, in a post on Instagram. At age 55, he appeared to share his disappointment after being removed from the popular series.

Towards the conclusion of his extensive post, LaPaglia expressed: ‘Anyone who claims that a surprise attack is the kindest method to demean another is foolish. It’s as painful as can be!’

Eagle-eyed fans noted that Genat famously uttered those exact words during an episode in 2019.

As someone who’s proudly spent 27 years married to my beloved husband, Jonathan, I felt compelled to share my thoughts publicly amidst the bustling comments section.

‘Humbling to see all the love and outrage for Jonathan LaPaglia on this post,’ she wrote.

It’s been disheartening to observe the surprise and bewilderment surrounding the decision made by Survivor AU up close.

Ursula spoke directly when she mentioned the Survivor Australia account in her remark.

‘You did not deserve this and it seems the real tribe has spoken, Jonny,’ Ursula said.

‘We and the Australian Survivor audience love you.’

Since the revival of the Channel 10 show in 2016, the Australian television presenter has been flooded with encouraging messages from his celebrity peers and former reality TV participants.

KIIS FM radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson said Jonathan is the ‘Greatest Of All Time’.

‘It won’t be the same without you JLP,’ Jackie said with a broken heart emoji.

Reggie Bird, the winner of Big Brother, typed many poop symbols and expressed: “This is complete nonsense.

King George Mladenov, also known as him from Bankstown, declared that Jonathan is simply outstanding among all the hosts in the industry.

The well-known Australian reality TV personality from Sydney, known for his appearances on “Australian Survivor” seasons like “Brains vs. Brawn” and “Heroes vs. Villains,” penned: ‘[You] allowed the game to unfold naturally, [you were] unbiased and iconically amusing. Your outstanding hosting skills enabled Episode 7 tribal council to proceed as it did because you had the ability to step back and let things take their course.’

George’s comment has been liked just shy of 2,000 times.

During American Season 43, competitor Owen Knight criticized the network’s choice to dismiss Jonathan as “stupid.

In my opinion, you absolutely shone and it was evident that the players adored you. Kudos from every corner of the globe!

To add to that, renowned Sydney chef Colin Fassnidge expressed: You were nothing short of the main event.

It almost certainly means that Genat, who was previously a model and now a professional reality TV game participant, is taking over from Jonathan.

It’s not unexpected that Jonathan is enraged following his termination, which occurred through an email sent by the team at EndemolShine Australia, the organization responsible for Survivor.

This was before anyone from Ten had the chance to pick up the phone.

The message popped up in his email inbox following the completion of his final season of Survivor Australia vs The World, which will be broadcasted later this year.

‘He got an email first. That was the initial comms from EndemolShine,’ a source said.

Later, there was a phone call from Ten, however, at that point, the task had been completed. Truthfully, it wasn’t the manner one would typically treat someone who has contributed to the production for nearly a decade.

The choice to announce the news through an email, characterized by insiders as ‘impersonal’ and ‘detached’, left those connected to the show in a state of surprise.

Based on information from several reliable sources, the plan to change Jonathan’s role had been decided long before the filming of Australia v The World started in September of the previous year. This decision was carefully concealed to prevent it from overshadowing the upcoming season.

‘It was locked in for months,’ one spy said.

To prevent any negative reaction during production and post-processing, they were cautious. However, their precautions seem insufficient now, as the situation has escalated, not just in Samoa.

Immediately following Daily Mail Australia announcing his termination, Jonathan released a statement acknowledging that he was let go. He referred to this event as the unexpected surprise he hadn’t anticipated.
