Clash of Clans is ending support for Amazon Appstore users: What players need to know

Story Highlights

  • Clash of Clans will no longer be supported on the Amazon Appstore after August 20, 2025.
  • In-game Shop offers and pass activations have been removed for Amazon users in the latest update
  • Amazon is closing its Android Appstore after 14 years, focusing on its own Fire devices instead.

Due to Amazon’s decision to close its Amazon Appstore platform on August 20, 2025, Clash of Clans is officially ending its association and will no longer provide support specifically for the Amazon Appstore. Supercell has verified that the June 2025 update was the last one intended for users of the Amazon Appstore.

Players can save their Clash of Clans progress by linking to Supercell ID

If you’re playing a game through Amazon, you might have observed modifications in your in-game store, including missing deals or inactive Gold and Event Passes. These changes were actually addressed in the latest update, and in-app transactions are no longer available now.

This implies that further updates and support for Clash of Clans will no longer be available through the Amazon Appstore. Nevertheless, Supercell is facilitating a smooth transition for players in their Clash adventure. By connecting your game to Supercell ID, you can securely transfer your progress to either Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

To move forward, users should link their existing game to a Supercell ID, delete the app from their device, re-download it from an approved store, and then sign back in. For comprehensive instructions on how to do this, as well as tips on selecting a unique player ID, I’ve prepared a guide titled “Linking and Saving Your Account with Supercell ID“. Be sure to follow the steps carefully in the guide before proceeding.

This action is being taken as Amazon has decided to discontinue their support for the Android Appstore, bringing an end to a 14-year period. Although the Appstore will continue to operate on devices such as Fire TV and Fire Tablets, it will no longer function on Windows, iOS, or Android platforms.
