Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay makes embarrassing admission about Eddie Cibrian affair

In her recently published memoir, the former Vanderpump Rules cast member, Scheana Shay, confessed an astonishing—and potentially mortifying—detail regarding her past relationship with Eddie Cibrian, who is married to LeAnn Rimes.

Previously, the 40-year-old celebrity admitted to being in a past relationship with the 52-year-old actor, unaware that he was already married during that time.

In a passage from her book My Good Side, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, she revisited the episode and confessed that her discernment was clouded in her youth, failing to spot even a hint of warning signs with Cibrian.

As reported by Shay, she relocated to Los Angeles in May of 2006, following her graduation from Azusa Pacific University.

As a fervent admirer looking back, I can’t help but marvel at the words of this future television sensation, penned when she was barely 21. Her aspirations were grand indeed, expressing her desire to carve out a niche for herself within the dynamic realm of entertainment. Whether it was through acting on the silver screen, hosting a popular TV show, or reporting the news, she was determined to make an indelible mark.

Luckily for her, she encountered a well-known figure of some renown not long after securing employment at an exclusive cigar lounge-cum-restaurant, which was frequented by a constant stream of top-tier celebrities, directors, writers, and actors.

After just a few months on the job, it’s said that she encountered Cibrian at a weekly poker game held every Tuesday evening. She asserted that he continued to attend this gathering each week.

In her memoir, she described herself as having a crush on someone who was the embodiment of Eddie – tall, dark-haired, and charming, complete with dimples. The instant our eyes met, he flashed his dimples at me, and I instantly felt drawn to him. After all, it’s hard not to be smitten by such an attractive individual.

During that period, he was in a marital relationship with ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality, Brandi Glanville. They tied the knot in 2001 and parted ways in 2010 through divorce.

In 2011, the future star didn’t achieve her major reality TV debut until she became a cast member for the show’s second season, appearing as a friend of the main characters.

2009 saw a heartbreaking breakup in my world when the beloved pair called it quits, following whispers of infidelity involving my idol, Cibrian, and the enchanting LeAnn Rimes. I couldn’t believe it when they confirmed their relationship in 2011 and tied the knot!

Scheria asserted that her bond with Cibrian blossomed gradually throughout the passage of time, yet she believed there was an immediate, undeniable spark between them from the outset.

In a written account, it was stated that Eddie was exceptionally kind, amusing, captivating, and a true gentleman – an individual I had never encountered before who possessed these qualities to such a remarkable degree. Whenever I was working with him, I felt as though I was the sole focus of his attention, while other customers seemed to overlook me entirely.

It appears that the possibility of Cibrian being married didn’t occur to her, yet she felt compelled to defend herself since it was difficult to discreetly gather personal details about someone during that period.

In those days, before the era of social media, he wouldn’t have been sharing pictures of his family all dressed up in their pajamas around a Christmas tree online, as she clarified.

Additionally, Shay claimed that Cibrian would remove his wedding ring during his regular Tuesday poker games.

She made it plain that Eddie wasn’t her only boyfriend at the time, but she admitted that they started a romantic involvement around the end of 2006, focusing on the physical aspect of their relationship.

She asserted that her meetings with Eddie, which they referred to as such, always occurred exclusively on Tuesday evenings following his completion of his game and her conclusion of work at the nightclub.

One reason she may not have noticed that he was already married was because they often appeared to spend a lot of time together in public with friends or on his yacht, which gave the impression that their relationship wasn’t being hidden.

She mentioned that what was ‘alarming’ about the connection was her belief that it might lead to her being with ‘Eddie quite effortlessly.’

‘He looked how I’d always imagined my future husband would, and he treated me well,’ she said.

The connection between them faded after Scheana reportedly expressed her belief that she was too young for a serious commitment with just one person, according to Eddie.

At approximately the same period, it’s said that she started dating actor Jesse Metcalf, who is famously known as the attractive gardener on Desperate Housewives.

In 2006, she stated that she watched him portray the main character in John Tucker Must Die, and secretly wished to date him. This wish came true in early 2007.

Despite regarding him as a truly impressive individual and acknowledging his dedication to maintaining his sobriety, they eventually drifted apart, with rumors suggesting that she rekindled her relationship with Cibrian.

Yet, she asserted that a colleague later disclosed to her he was married, a fact he allegedly denied when she questioned him directly regarding his marital status.

Scheana clarified that she had not visited Eddie’s house, a fact that might have alerted her to the fact that he was already married.

She expressed that it seemed as though we were constructing something. To be clear, I didn’t find it odd that I hadn’t visited his home before. He resided in Calabasas, or so I understood.

In 2007, when Uber wasn’t around yet and I had barely a thousand dollars, I wasn’t planning a trip to Calabasas. Instead, it was far simpler and more enjoyable for me to socialize in Beverly Hills or Hollywood, places that were closer and more accessible to where I lived. At that time, there were no warning signs that stood out, particularly because our relationship wasn’t exclusive yet.

Cibrian has two sons, Mason (22) and Jake (18), with his initial spouse, Brandi. Over time, they evolved their relationship into amicable co-parenting, following Cibrian’s subsequent marriage to Rimes.

Later on, Shay got married to Michael from 2014 to 2017. Afterwards, she wed her second husband Brock Davis in August 2021. During that same year, the couple had their first child, Summer Moon Honey, who was born in April.
