Skye Wheatley reveals the real reason she was dropped from Big Brother and how a sex scandal saw her reality television comeback fail
Skye Wheatley has shared why she was not included in the cast for Big Brother Australia’s 14th season.
In the Nova podcast Skye & Callum, the former television personality disclosed that she had originally been cast for the 11th season of the show; however, a controversial event online led to her removal from the series.
She shared that she was invited to return to Big Brother, but then a major online controversy erupted which gained significant attention, she explained to her fellow host and Love Island veteran Callum Hole (age 27).
‘Got heaps of hate. You know, all my sponsors were dropping me. It was a f**ked time in my life…
The following day, I received an email from the producers and they expressed, “Hey, we regret to inform you that we’ve chosen not to include her in our considerations,” as the 30-year-old explained.

So what scandal saw Skye booted from a second shot on Big Brother?
Two weeks prior to the start of filming, Skye conducted an Instagram Q&A session on her Story, during which she responded to a question about her long-term partner Lachlan Waugh in a manner that upset some of her followers.
As a lifestyle enthusiast myself, let me share an inspiring tale – that of Skye and Lachlan, a duo who’ve built a beautiful family over the past eight years. They are proud parents to two energetic boys, Forest (age five) and Bear (age three). The bond they’ve cultivated is truly heartwarming!
When a fan inquired about who took charge in their private life, Skye explained that if she felt like it, she wouldn’t accept ‘no’ as a response. She further shared that her partner enjoys it when she takes the lead in initiating intimacy.
Yet, the remark sparked strong criticism online, as several individuals were outraged that it appeared she was coercing her partner into unwanted sexual activity without his consent.
At the time, Skye slammed her fans for ‘twisting’ her words and ended up issuing an apology.
Nevertheless, the offhand remark cost her the contract with Channel 10 and another opportunity to appear on the well-liked reality show.
Upon considering the incident, Skye expressed that it had left her feeling deeply saddened and shattered, to the point where her mother acknowledged a noticeable loss of her usual radiance following the disappointment when the chance didn’t come to fruition.

She mentioned that the network didn’t reveal their reasoning for dropping her at the last second, but she did receive a hint suggesting a possible cause.
After my appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’, Ben Morris interviewed me and mentioned that Tim Dormer, another Big Brother contestant from the same year, was also set to enter the house.
‘Apparently he said, “if you put Skye in the house, I’m not doing it.”
‘So they obviously chose him,’ she revealed.
Wheatley recently made a surprising admission about her sexuality.
The ex-reality TV personality admitted that she might identify as ‘pansexual,’ suggesting she might have delved deeper into this aspect of her identity if her relationship with Lachlan hadn’t begun.
Skye concurred, sharing that she discovered pansexuality from watching the reality TV series on Stan called Love Triangle.
‘I didn’t know what pansexuality was until watching this show,’ she said.
In truth, I find myself drawn more towards a person’s unique character rather than their gender. The appeal of connection knows no boundaries; it could be anyone whose spirit resonates with mine, but it’s their individuality and character that truly captivate me.
